Rumors and new releases thread

I wanna try it too. I’m down for experimenting with tech, and fingers crossed it’s an actually viable implementation

Very true. Price is decent for sure. I’ve never had a Softears product so I’m interested for sure.

There is a reason I said “poor man’s EJ” and not clone; I doubt it’ll be the same in ears, but if it captures part of the magic at ~half the cost? Might be cool.

The Softears Studio 4 graph makes it a miss for me I like my Midbass glide and what it does to vocals that tuning sub bass focus and bieng BA might not sound like it graphs but not and not at that price either. The KiwiEars Orchestra Lite looks way better tuned and 1/2 cost.

The EA2000 again I am struggling with how much they are asking and the cable tuning thing IJDK.

They even provide a picture.

I guess the chip on the other side is your standard ethernet transformer (to block PoE from grilling the switch chip).

So, total parts cost, 10€ without the case?

Doing some proper cable routing (signal cables at a 90° angle to the power cables) has probably more effect than that IFI thing, especially since the main component in there should be integrated into most ethernet carrying devices anyway.

Aful is finally getting closer to rolling out their Performer8 IEM

If they’re trying to recreate the market shifting buzz of P5, this will be $400-450

I do hope they are retuning it for the western market, cuz that taobao graph really doesnt look good…

I can’t say which is which
How do you tell the graphs apart?

I assume its the red because the P5 doesn’t have that hump

The purple/red one is the Band 8 pro.

here is the tao pic.

That hump before the gain is so strange …

yeah, very wonky tuning…

Not as wonky as this though.

I have no idea where they are normalizing the graph though. If you normalized for 300hz or 1000hz it still looks wonky but way less so.

Definitely gives off 64Audio vibes:

Hum… I actually find this tuning quite interesting.
The flatter it is, the more I’m intrigued.

That divot at 500hz is outrageous! I wonder what that would sound like :joy: also, like @GooberBM said, it does remind me of the 64 audio stuff. Hey, at least it’s different and interesting.
