HEADBAND REPLACEMENTS - ZMFyy
FORWARD: I’m putting this here in this thread as it applies to a wide range of headphones and if anyone missed checking these products out on AliExpress.
Yeah I been looking for a better headband for my M1060c for a loooooooong time.
Finally there’s these Sony and ZMF copycats out. $35-$37ish is pretty nice if anyone’s looking for something. (NOTE: I salvaged the original forks as the ones that came were short and a bit flimsy).
You could probably find these reasonable replacements your Fostexes, Denons, Hifimans, Audezes and even a Sony MDR-R10 lol.

PS: Before some of you go thinking: no, these are no affiliate links, I’m not promoting anything, just some personally suggested replacement part recommendations. I don’t make anything here besides some of yous’ gratitudes.
What headphones are those? Why does it say Burmester?
They’re M1060c’s with semi-open back 3d printed cups and burmester car speaker grills.
Looks too legit Outstanding job!!
Now with a bass boost switch again. increased power from 1 to 1.5W. Would wait for measurements though. The 1W of the original was 500mW+500mW at 10% distortion
Also a new SMSL Amp with 5W at 32 Ohm. Loses against the Topping L70 in my opinion. Few bucks more and it gets you a display, R2R volume and a remote.
Sound Rhyme SR7 1+6 hybrid is rumored to be priced at $369, right around Canon II, Performer 8, Blessing 3 (+Dusk).
It’s getting hella competitive in this price point right now
That’s dope - we had budget first, then around $100, now $350-$400. Things are getting spicy!
Im glad something is shaking up this price range as I truly believe this is where we could see some endgame level offerings coming in at and it was so vacant for the last few years.
This is key. The budget sets are what $100ish sets would’ve been a couple of years ago. The $100 sets are competitive with what was the $300+ bracket, and if the $300+ sets can compete with up to $1000, the way that $500+ sets are arguably competing with kilobuck+ sets, it’ll be great for the health of the hobby
Agreed - If companies are really pushing price boundaries, It won’t be long until we see something at or under $400 that competes with the mid-fi boys at $650 and we all know those are damn close to the budget TOTL boys at $1k. We’re witnessing a shake-up in the market and I’m here for it.
Final Audio X8000
Kph30 meets Planar ?
Final will exhibit a prototype of the “X8000”, the latest model of planar magnetic field type headphones. It is positioned as a new “X series” that incorporates the results of basic research over many years, and although detailed specifications have not yet been disclosed, we were able to ask about several important topics this time. The 8000 series is the name given to final’s flagship, and features a uniquely etched diaphragm, as shown in the photos in the catalog. Magnets and coils have also been reinforced, and it is said that it has been developed as a driver with little distortion and good response. The housing is machined from titanium, and the prototype has a matte texture, but the final form is planned to have a mirror finish. The ear pads are made with a 3D printer and are characterized by the fact that they look sparkling depending on the lighting conditions. The cable is white and silver, and together with the main body, you can feel the quality of jewelry. The release is scheduled for the end of the year, and information will be released sequentially.
And thus a new contender throws their hat in the ring
That looks so good!
It looks interesting, though I’m willing to bet it’ll cost a pretty penny. Titanium isn’t exactly cheap.
