most Xduoo stuff already has op-amp swapping so this doesn’t seem to be a stretch for them
Glad to hear!
Anyone feeling brave?

About $100 BT receiver/sender from F.Audio which is also a DAP:
Admittedly this last one seems to be from 2023, but “news to me” anyway.

A Nostalgic Return! SNOWSKY Pure Music Player ECHO MINI Is Officially Released!-FIIO—BORN FOR MUSIC
Dude, I thought you saw this before buying the other one!
Tiny little DAP for $60 AND a removable battery.
How sick?!
I had no idea you could get a full DAP (Echo Mini) for the same (less actually) than the BT receiver (Retro Nano)!
I haven’t seen anything mentioning the DAP has a removable battery like the BT receiver?
They do only say transmitter on the DAP, so it would have to be local, couldn’t stream Amazon on my phone and listen through it.
Also, I need to wait to see videos of using the interface. If you have to put all the SD card music loose (not nested in folders of artist > album) then that’s sort of a pain. I wouldn’t assume there’s a shuffle function even until they show it… on super simple players (ie the Mixxtape) there are simple menu options / data tag sorting features you can assume will be there.
EDIT:
I did read somewhere that I had the same removable battery but admittedly, I didn’t look into it besides that comment I saw, I might be mistaken.
Regardless, yeah, dude, a full-on DAP for less than the BT Dongle is nuts. But like you said, it appears to be local only and when you’re using BT, it’s only SBC codec, so iPhone users are shit out of luck.
I’m not a local music owner at all, so it wouldn’t work for me, but if you have a little SD card with your library, I feel like this is a good deal!
Edit reply; ahh, I was incorrect, sorry about that!
I love the look, but if I don’t know how its shuffle feature works and there’s no way to enter letters to search for an album/artist, I’m starting to lose interest that it can be a cheap and cheerful way to listen to local files.
I can’t seem to sell my for my Hiby R3 Pro Saber for $85, but for $30 more it’s obviously a better feature set for local playback. Only reason I don’t use it as a receiver is it has a bug where it keeps using SBC with my iPhone instead of much better AAC, sadly it’s noticeable.
On paper, it looks incredible. The tagline of it being a full-on DAP for $60 is super appealing, but I agree, looking further into it you start realizing there are just too many compromises in order to get to that price point.
I love the idea, but it seems a bit too limited to be useful, for me at least.
I’m definitely considering the idea of the Shanling M1 Plus, if it sounds great then it is a beautifully Android free local player that can also be a BT receiver.
Because if I’ve been entertaining the idea of $200 receivers, why not spend a bit less for more functionality?
Depends how it sounds…
(10440 battery)
May be Fiio preparing for the new EU law about replaceable batteries in tech (smartphones included!). So I would expect that all their devices will have replaceable batteries sooner or later.
(2027 is when it comes in effect.)
I’m loving mine so far. It’s only been two weeks but I’m very happy.
I just transfered my full library to an SD card yesterday instead of my old 16gb one. It took a while but now I’ve got it all in there.
That for sure a design of designs… I was almost expecting a Fisher-Price logo on there.
I still don’t understand why these manufacturers don’t stick to one design language and build brand recognition off that.
