Yeah I’ll wait for impressions for sure. Curious what $700 extra over something like a GSX mini nets you.
Is there anything specifically in the design picture of what little information they provided you that would cause you concern?
No, I more meant concern in terms of caring about (as in that’s what I would be more curious about), not saying that it would potentially be bad. I expect reviews to be as overblown as they were for the fa10, so I’ll just hold out for either someone I know to grab one when they become aval, or when I break down myself and grab one lol
I think the hope is if you have Susvara, HE6SE/v2, and 1266 Phi TC this gives you an end game solution an entry level Hifi price.
If you’re rolling with a Utopia, HD800s, or LCD4 I think the value prop is much less.
And I’m going to be skeptical it’s an endgame solution for the aforementioned headphones.
Considering the amps people run them off.
Maybe the HE6SE
New Emotiva… DACs? Yup.
Can be bundled with GR1 headphones for less $:
Mini USB in 2021?
Sony WF-1000XM4 leaked video
The C in USB-C is for combustion.
(Ok I don’t hate usb-c that much but right now everything I have isn’t usb-c, and if I have the choice between usb-c and something else, for the same price, I take something else).
From my understanding the capacitors used in the output stage are proprietary… i.e. “Flux Capacitors” so quality should not be an issue.
All decades of music sound extremely good on a Flux (insert rimshot here) .
Just because something is propriety and well designed doesn’t mean it will always be a good result. No real way of knowing without hearing one
I have enjoyed previous flux amps, but at the same time didn’t find them super impressive or anything either, just reasonably quality amps. Good for the price
Damn it, I feel so stupid now lol, it was right in front of my face and I didn’t pick up on it, sorry about that lol
why? why wouldn’t you want something that’s easy to use and extremely versatile?
Security and peace of mind.
Type-C usb cables require a special chipset inside the cable. No verification is made (is it even possible? I don’t know) by any device whatsoever to “see” if the chipset is in it – or if it works well. If someone, somewhere, gives you a chinese, cheap, usb-C cable, that has no chipset in it… or just if you buy a cable that looks nice and reliable from a known brand, but it’s a fake one, the cable will just send the last number of watts used to charge the last device, into the new device.
Yes.
i.e.: If a non-compliant usb-C cable just charged your laptop @ 90 watts, then you try to charge your smartphone with it, your smartphone will cook. And most of the cables sold a few years ago were not USB-C compliant.

I’ll wait for USB-D, thanks.
New Topping DAC/amp combo on their Facebook page. Interestingly, almost all the comments were complaining that the product has MQA tax associated with it and criticising the MQA support.
Interesting picture. Do any other Topping products say “shenzhenaudio” on them?
No, I myself only noticed it as I was posting it here. I guess it’s a collab? I can’t find any news on Topping’s website so it may not officially released yet. Googling also doesn’t give any relevant search results.
I went and checked out shenzhenaudio.com, nothing about this product. But they have really updated their web site since I was last there. It is fast and easy to navigate. And global free shipping. I may have just been oblivious to it before, but to me it looks like they are upping their game!
