They have always had free shipping. Plus they are “imaginative” with the paperwork. That made the landed cost for the SMSL SU-8/SP200 both noticeably cheaper then the Drop price in Canada. Also, they are constantly running sales, so it is worth checking the site every day or two if you are in the market for a specific product that they carry.
Someone talked about the HarmonicDyne Planar IEMs… they’re on pre-order for 379$.
Interesting…
Super interested!
The OH10s were far too heavy, and the OH1s were lacking a selling point. If they could match or even lower OH1 weight and comfort with OH10s sound, this would be a winner. I’d so snag these.
There is promise of a new dynamic driver, the same BA (which is fine in my book). And they look rather small and not trying to rely on ear structure. Looking so far so good.
Price: xx$
If that means under a $100 I’m impressed, expected more for that wild shape.
A direct competitor to Moondrop Aria? Not a fan of the design though, the first thing that comes to mind is dust.
Kinera released the Imperial Odin, an update to their First Multiba flagship.
Audirect released the Beam 3 plus. Unlike the other dac-amps in the Beam series, the 3 plus is also a bt dac-amp.
Is Audirect another one of those house Chinese brands with no proper website?
They have one, but it’s not updated it seems.
Shanling announced the UP5 USB and bt dac-amp with OLED screen, an additional 4.4mm bal output along with 2.5mm and 3.5mm outputs.
What the hell is this batman cyberpunk thing
SMSL released the SU8s, equipped with ESS9068AS dac, and the design is similar to their recently released dacs with a colorful display.
They also released a Headphone amp accompanying the SU-8S, the SH8s. It’s equipped with a specialy designed precision linear feedback circuit to keep the ultra low even at high gain. There are balanced+se outputs with 2 gain levels. The output power is rated 3W/32ohm.

$179 looks like, I have and enjoy the UP4 but wondered about missing the screen from the BTR5. Decided on the Shanling since I would use the volume knob more than the screen on a device in my pocket. Seems the best of both worlds but at an 80$ premium. Adds MQA but I don’t care about that.
