Only ess (or akm for that matter) dac I’ve ever liked is the gustard x16 and it has the 9068as (but I think the sound it has might be from the opamp choice) so that’s interesting. Wonder how it sounds.

I must say, it feels so damn nice to see all of these new flagships coming out. It finally feels like this industry is moving forward once again!

I hope it trickles down to the low and and end midrange markets. Because imo an industry moves forward when the previous flagship technology trickles down and becomes available for cheaper. Instead of releasing innovations at higher and higher prices

Yeah, the lower end headphone market is pretty dissapointing to me compared to iems/earbuds…

Absolutely, but these are brand-new technologies. A lot of time was invested into making them.

I’m sure that we will get cheaper variants of these technologies in the mid and low end markets. However, you have to give it time. All of these manufacturers are trying to make their hard work pay off, and that’s why the price of each of these flagships is sky high.

I 100% understand all that. Just feel the budget market side of things and midrange is slightly stagnant these days

RG…did you have a stroke or something? …you’ve got me worried now, LoL!

Lol you already know how it is by now lol. I’m typos galore

I can see that. Very little movement is present in the mid-range market, let alone the low-end market.

I think the businesses see a greater market in the high-end, perhaps that’s why they are shying away from the mid-range and low-end markets. They are businesses at the end of the day, it’s the profit and income that they set as the priorities…

Maybe its because the profit motive is not there. Economies are still trash right now so I doubt people are buying hifi as much on top of cost to produce at a profit lower end gear. On topic though glad for the E30 successor since its doing great for my living room speaker set up. I need a second so will be giving the E50 a look.

indeed! if there was ever a saturated product catagory, IEM’s are near the top, if not the top one!

@voja people think headphones are overwhelming…but I swear, IEM’s are a magnitude or more worse. I swear, you look up brands and while a few are recognizable, you will see concoctions and combinations of every letter in the alphabet randomly placed. all you need to do is take 26 (the number of letters in the English alphabet) and then multiply by 26 and then carry on multiplying by 26 another 26x for all the possible variations.

it truly blows my mind…
