I also got a Lyr 3 as well. I wanted a decent tube amp but really I got it because I couldn’t find an amp for $499 that was as powerful as the Lyr 3. It’s more than twice the output of my SP200!

And it sounds great too right? what tubes did you get?"

I bought the same time as the Bifrost, so I am waiting on both. Schiit finally charged me today for the order, so maybe it will ship soon?

An upgraded DAC such as the BF2 should give you an improvement on dynamics, sound stage, and timbre for sure.

They have started production again on BiFrosts but the number of orders is high, so we shall see when mine gets built…

and mine and many many others

I was hoping to snag a used bifrost 2 but it looks like people have yet to receive their’s to even start reselling. i look forward to the reviews as the units arrive for everyone as i think i settled on the bf2>rnhp combo and want to know what to look forward to.

Currawong has reviewed the Bifrost 2 and they really liked it.

I posted a video of the Bifrost 2 with the Asgard (further up in the history). Bought it 10 minutes afterwards. 100% dead on the money.

Edit: Post mentioned Schiit Bifrost 2

Just got my Bifrost and im really impressed. I had the SU8 and it just feels kinda toyish compared to the Bifrost. The music sounds more natural and has more nuance to it than it did before. I was expecting a lot of soundstage but it seems to actually have less than the SU8 to my ear. I did notice that my RNHP lost some volume with the change. i would say about 15% unfortunately. I would play my dt990 at 3 o’clock with the SU8 but now i have to turn it to max.

The Bifrost is much more bigger than my RNHP. makes me feel like i should upgrade my amp lol. theres a ā€œInvertā€ indicator on the DAC but im not sure what that does. can anyone explain? I just started listening to it but i could hear a difference right away. i think i made a good choice here. i’m wondering about a amp upgrade now. I was thinking the SLP amps

Nice, I’m glad to hear that you had positive first impressions. Remember to leave it on (or warm it up for a while) – having some heat in the components are fairly important to the BF2 and it seems it’s picky with that.

Also, how were the dynamics and the bass + slam on it?

There’s a button on the remote that inverts the phase, it’s to fix songs that have it inverted for some reason, but realistically you probably will never use it and should just leave it off.

I was reading the Bifrost manual and it said to use a USB cable 2m (or 6ft) max length. guess they dont want too long a USB cable
