Schiit Bifrost 2

Unless you have your A3 located in a fairly enclosed area or worried about the electricity bill, you can safely leave your unit on at all times.

If you are worried, then you can just turn it on for 30-60 minutes before listening, while you do some errands or something.

Further on that, the changes will only show with some of the highest resolving headphones you have and will be small. Like… you may only notice the differences during the warm up on some of your favorite songs. Try to listen for it, and as my previous poor first attempted was trying to highlight that your card might not have that issue.

so I haven’t listened for a difference and probably won’t but its always on unless I head out for work as im gone for 2 - 2 1/2 days sometimes… just wanted to make sure im getting the most out of it… when I do turn it on when I get home its a good 20 - 30 mins before I sit down for a listen so I guess im doing it correctly, albeit ignorantly lol

Some Bifrost 2 B-Stocks for anyone who wants to save $30. Would have full warranty but no future trade-ups or returns.

Wow, that is a tiny discount. I was hoping for $629.00/$639.00.

Oh well, no rush.

I got a B stock but it was $50 off. There was only 3 at that time and they disappeared pretty quickly.

Mines still backordered, Ships 6-30.

Why did I just order an asgard2? There is no reason for this

If it makes you feel better, I had to fight that temptation hard as well.

It does. Thanks friendo! It’s just so cheap for a class A amp. I guess just something different

You all were right. There are more B-stocks up and they raised the price by $20 for them.

I have emailed them twice about my order and have received zero replies… I guess a phone call is next.

#UNSATISFACTORY

EDIT: No phone number to call… Starting to think I should have bought the Aries II…

I emailed them about an estimate on shipping and they replied within the hour but they just said, “they need a little bit more time.” That was it.

I wonder if the b stock items don’t meet standards or they’re just visual blemish.

Edit: I can read, and now I know they’re returns (clean) or minor visual blemish. All meet perf metrics

Which email address did you use? They have 2. I’ve used [email protected] a few times with random questions and gotten replies within a couple of hours regardless of day or time of day. :man_shrugging:

Im going to leave my mini review here. FWIW i bought the bifrost 2 and my asgard 3. As a experiment on if i could possibly hear the difference between my cheap dacs (smsl m8, schiit modi3, fiio e17k) and the bifrost… I wish i would of bough this earlier instead of buying the cheaper ones, its that much of a difference. The sounds are more forward and clear, its kind of just puts it in your ear canal for easy deciphering. It does not give you more sound, it just makes the sounds easier to hear and very clear. After listening to the dac, its not that it makes sounds appear that were not there originally, but it makes it so you hear the sounds easily. It honestly made me love my headphones, the bayerdynaic dt990 premium 600ohms more than my hifi-man 400S, sundara’s, HE-300’s and my dan clark audio aeon 2 closed backs. Im just blown away at how good this dac sounds. If you have the means, just buy it and try it. I do not think you would be disappointed.

I was wondering if it would even be worth it to buy a $700 dac like the bifrost2 or Ares II with the amps I have. Asgard3, Erish, and Darkvoice. I use the enog2 currently.

I am waiting own my Bifrost 2 to ship, but a better dac will make your amps sound better though. I have a SU-8 and I wanted a different type of dac, to see the difference between a resistor dac and a Detla-Sigma dac. That’s why I settled on the Bifrost 2.
