Iā€™m really enjoying it. The versatility of the Jot 2 is great, and it really does present 2 different sounds, depending on SE/Balanced. My hp is the elex if that helps you.

I am coming from a S.M.S.L sp200 and S.M.S.L su-8 , hopefully this will be an upgrade to it!

I was coming from an Sdac Balanced > THX 789. The Bifrost was huge and the Jot just pairs well. There is a lot to play around in this combination. I have a Loki on the way as well, more fun.

Iā€™m glad you mentioned this because I have one as well - youā€™ll have to forego the XLR connection, right? Since the Loki only has RCA in/outā€¦

Yes, but the Jot should still spit out the signal balanced regardless, and you can switch the input for the Jot balanced if you like and bypass the Loki completely. Or just bypass the Loki with itā€™s switchā€¦ A lot to play with here. Oh, donā€™t forget the out puts if you want to pair speakers with the Jot as well.

Ohhhh, right, so you could set up the Loki just as part of the SE signal chain if you wantedā€¦ got it. Thatā€™s pretty cool!

Thatā€™s the way Iā€™m thinking about it and to be honest, Iā€™m still trying to figure out which output I like best. The se might win with the Loki. It just has to get here first.

Thatā€™s how I do it. I have two XLRā€™s going to two amps (split cable and about to start using a switcher) and the SE going through a Schiit Loki to three amps. I have a four way switcher on the way for the SE lines.

I thought that remote was a throw-in, but Iā€™m surprised at myself for using it frequently as I do for input switching.

@littleJoe I have the Jotunheim 2 on the way and would be very interested in your observations re the combo of the Jot2 and Bifrost. I plan to use my FiiO M11 Pro and iBasso DX90 as DACs with the Jot 2 in the near term but have been eyeing the Bifrost. I Plan to pair all with my Focal Clearsā€¦ if they ever arrive.

I love the combination, but 1st a little back round. I am relatively new at this HP thing. My first set up was a HD58x with a FiiO K5 pro in December. This is my 2nd upgrade since then. I got the Bifrost 2 because a saw @MON recommending it in several different threads and I wanted to upgrade my Drop/Grace Sdac B. I had gotten my Elex by then and wanted to get the full potential out of it. Than I saw @WaveTheory review of the Jotunheim and I was curious about the 2 different sound signatureā€™s from one amp. So, I asked in that that thread if it would be a good addition to my 789. I was told it would be an upgrade. So here we are. I may not be the right person to be giving advise, but I sure am enjoying the combination. Hope that helps.

You said you came from an SDAC, right? Iā€™m coming from the un-balanced SDAC - was it a big upgrade for you?

I would say it was a big step up. It was the first time I could really hear instrument separation. I would say it was also more smooth, impactful and added more bottom (bass).
