This looks like a great pairing with a BF2. A nice balance of a respected DS (AKM 4493), and the highly regarded MultiBit. this sounds like a great stack.

last modi is only a couple years old, and gets a lot of recommendations still. and a lot of people still buy them. balanced for 200 to compete with gesheli makes a lot of sense to me right now. i am willing to bet the modi is one of the last to be refreshed because of all the other factors.
This may sound strange, but this dac pairs incredibly well with the THX 789. Since the highs are fuller and not quite as forward the resolution itās capable of is less fatiguing.

Understood, just be glad they didnāt raise the price $100 like they were expecting too on the Bifrost 2. I got mine as a B-stock and honestly, Iām fortunate. I can say that Bifrost 2 just does everything well and is just enjoyable. It may not be a super performer but it makes me happy, I promise the wait is worth it.
Iām really interested to hear how the Fulla 3 DAC compares with the modius. Iām hoping for a much better experience.

the Fulla 3 is supposed to be a disappointment still, with what Iāve heard from M0N. and Iām not sure itās realistic to compare a $100 DAC/Amp against a $700 DAC. LoL!

Iāll admit, the fulla 3 + Bifrost 2 sounds GOOD. My pc37x sounds the best with that setup.

Wonder how this will compare to the enog 2 pro in tone
Given how close the price points are and the additional features of the Modius, a lot of people are going to be asking that question as well.
The topping e30 and Enog2 pro use the same AKM4493 DAC chip as the Modius. As always, it will come down to implementation and the output stages. Iām not in the market for a DAC, but Iām definitely curious on the feedback from the folks in this forum that purchased the modius.

The verdict on the Modius is still out for me. I havenāt ran it through my routine yet, so my impressions are still incomplete, but so far I have a positive opinion of the Modius. Iāll just keep this short: its clean, my amp is benefiting from its balanced output in terms of power, and can run off USB only and its still room temp. There are times I find some songs a little bright, but that is part of getting familiar with this new addition and discover what I like to pair with it. (Now I wish I didnāt let go of my Aeolus)
Eval chain used: Win10->usb->Modius->xlr->HPA V281->Clear.

Are you planning on upgrading to another ZMF? Different headphone all together?
At least you can take comfort in knowing that your former Aeolus are going to somebody that will appreciate them.
