anyone have a liquid plat in house to pair with this and can throw me a reasonable explaination on how well it pairs? Typically use Beyer setups and auditioning the liquid plat alongside the Bifrost 2. Curious about this dac as a potential cheaper alternative.
I found the LP to sound a bit V shaped, this dac emphasized that somewhat. Which is strange because it smooths out the thx. I found the LP was equally bright and in some ranges brighter than the 789 using my aeon2 closed. This was all using balanced in and out. Depending on what you like to hear this may be a great pairing
So… I hooked up my LCD X to my GS-X mini with the Modius as the source gear… I kinda hate it. Way too smooth and what enjoy in music is missing. Bass is more muted than with the Bifrost 2 with this headphone. Completely unexpected experience with the LCD X. Looks like I’ll have more headphones to try out.
Based on my LCD X experience that needs a bit more help in the treble to sound good to work with the Audeze house sound, I think you may enjoy the Modius with Beyer a lot.
Kind of curious how this would pair with the geshelli erish that was released if anyone ever happens to own both.
Does anybody know if you can get ASIO drivers for it. I have a piano app that needs it.
I’ve had an issue pop up with my Modius. My PC will not boot if it is plugged in. Any thoughts on this? I’m also going to email Schiit, but I thought I’d post and see what y’all thought.
A long shot but you could try disable Usb boot in the BIOS.
Okay, I’ll give that a shot. Thanks for the suggestion.
Disabling USB options for boot in bios did not work. I’ll see what Schiit has to say.
I have an issue with mine where if my PC sleeps, when I wake it up I won’t get any sound out of the Modius. PC still recognizes it, but no sound. Not the end of the world because it’s not often my PC sleeps. It’s usually on of off, but I am looking into it.
Could be that windows is defaulting to your default audio device. It would still see the Modius but would send the sound to the other device. You could try to make the Modius your default audio device and see if that solves it.
Good point, I’ll give that a shot
This seems like the Modius itself or it’s firmware is the issue here. I did some testing with the no sound upon wake from sleep issue, my main desktop PC has this issue, I then tried it on my windows laptop that’s running the same version of windows, same issue. I then tried on my MacBook, and it’s got the exact same issue.
Hello,
I think the best is to contact Schiit and report her about this issue.
They can better help i think.Maybe when it ist a Firmware problem you must send it back and become repaired or new device. When is really a problem. You have Garantie of the Unit.
But first contact Schitt.
Yeah they’re issuing exchanges for me and some others with the same issue.
Sounds like they are probably going to exchange mine as well.
I don’t think that it is a problem exclusive to the Modius as I have been having trouble with a creative g6 since one of the recent windows updates, I have to reconnect the g6 every time I turn on my pc to get it to recognize it.
New modius reinstalls the driver every time I turn on the pc, which is a very similar issue. I suspect Microsoft altered how usb powered devices are handled in a recent update.
Those having issues with it after sleep should try disabling selective usb suspension in the windows 10 power plans and settings options, might help.
Though if happening on a MacBook it’s probably the modius in your case
Hmm…
Could try pipeing audio signals through something like VB-Cable and then into the DAC you have.
Not sure about other devices, but the issue does not occur with the E30.
