Thatās what I would pick lol, tbh I would pick a sundara over any of the sendy drivers
The pads are the same as original sendy. The V2 pads that are fenestrated now come stock on sendy. We are talking 2 db of mid bassā¦thatās it.
Me personally, I returned mine because the drivers started to have the worst channel imbalance Iāve ever heard. This is very common btw due to how thin the driver sheet is.
So my advice would be to pass altogether, but thatās just me.
Ding ding ding, we have a winner.
Might be a bit early to tell, but I have to say:
- Blon B20: Bright, fun, wide sound stage, pretty comfy, get hours of wear, photogenic headphones and maybe the most of the Sendy clones.
- Ether: Less bright, more base (so far)
- LCD X: Base, neutral little darkā¦
I feel like if you want Sendy or clone for a line up of planar to use and you just donāt want to risk hifimanā¦ itāll work in a collection. I enjoy the crap out of my B20s but I got a good pair. Iāll end up with Sundaraās Iām sure. If you love watching Zeos and want know his sound signature of choice, itās worth a try.
hmm interesting thoughts on the sendys. luckily drop has a hassle free return should you not like stuff you buy from them so Iāll probably still give them a shot. Sundaraās are on my shortlist and will be purchased at some point, hoping to audition them first. I donāt have a way to audition the sendys currently.
If there is a reason to NOT try a Sendy clone, it killed one Monoprice THX 887 amp and related to some weird protection getting set up on a Schiit Heresy. So if you want the ONLY headphone Iāve owned that destroyed an amp to auditionā¦ there is that.
I like my sendys, they give me a different sound than my other headphones with their aggressive signature, I also find them to be pretty comfortable. With that said though I could probably do without them and the Sundaras definitely pique my interest. I might actually be selling them soonish to help fund part of a LCD-X purchase If anyone is interested let me know.
Ironically the headphones I bought after the B20s (and the NDH20) was the LCD X. While Iām not getting rid of the Xās anytime soon, I would strongly consider the LCD GX instead. If you listen to metal571 reviews and feel like you ears like him, check those out.
Thanks for the tip, Iāve heard some good things about the GX here and there. One of the big reason Iām going for the X besides the sound signature which I think Iāll like very much, is Iāve heard it pairs really well with my RNHP and the Haggerman Tuba (which is also a planned purchase).
I personally wouldnāt go for the gx imo, I prefer the x
ā¦ RNHP, M0N pops upā¦ and pairing it with my current favorite headphone in the collection. You have to tell me how the LCD X sounds with RNHP. What DAC or source are you running?
Your answer on LCD X + RNHP may end up deleting $500 from el walletto
what do you prefer about it over the GX?
Itās funny that you mention the NDH20 because I also own it. But ever since I got my Eikon last week Iāve been mulling over getting rid of the neumanns as well. The Eikon has pretty much replaced them as my closed back of choice and I enjoy them more too.
Iām keeping the NDH20ās for now. But yeahā¦ they neuter sound. The driver canāt run free with all the dynamics. If you want a headphone that kinda beats up the NDH20 in a bright and wonderful wayā¦ Sendy Aiva and clones.
I donāt have the lcd x but I have heard it many times on the rnhp with a good dac (including the b2) and imo itās one of my top pairings for the price. The lcd x and neve pairing is very good, neve himself uses them with the xc
I literally bought the Ether CX because I thought about getting the XCās but didnāt want both open and closed back of the same headphone.
I like the increased slam and control over the driver on the x, also imo the x is more resolving with also a more refined signature. I think the gx might have a bit more different signature than most audeze, but I would hesitate to recommend it over the lcd 2 or lcd x
Being surprisingly on topicā¦ how the hell does my Blon B20 sound better than my Ether CX? Other than some metallic sound from the driver from some sort of reverbā¦ the B20 has better bass than my barely broken in Ether CX.
The ether cx needs a lot of time to work the driver and also higher volume to sound itās best from my experience. Also imo neither are really my preferred, but I would slightly prefer the cx
I wouldnāt due to build quality, especially not living in the US. the sound may be great, but if they break as often as rumoured it is not a HP for me.
