Definitely ā you often see these in studios. Especially for the mids theyāre really neutral.
I donāt know if the new version got anything above 10khz though. The old version just didnāt. No āairā whatsoever.
Anybody tried to pad swap these yet or no?
Not yet. But I am going to try out at least one fo the dekoni offerings.
I just ordered a Dekoni pad from Drop like a week agoā¦ should get here in mid-June, so I will update whenever that gets here
The first version of these was a good example of the difference between percieved touch point quality and actual construction quality and dependability. They felt a bit low rent but were actually extremely robust, reliable headphones that just went and went. If these new versions are the same you might never have to buy headphones again if you like the sound. I had the old ones which I used with a sound desk and though they werenāt my favourite headphones for listening to music they were detailed and did the job they were bought for very well.
Yes. They last 10 years+
Got my Dekoni Earpadz today. They have a velour-type option and a regular leathery-type. I got the leathery-type (Midnight) because I wanted to keep the most similar sound signature to the original pads as possible. These things are so much comfier now as Iāve been using them the entire night since I got home from work.
Bass might be a little bit punchier, but they pretty much sound the same as with the original pads from what I can tell. Also I am starting to love these things. With the Asgard they arenāt super clinical and have a bit of warmth to the low end that makes these kind of a fun warm-neutral sound sig. For $80 + $30 for a new set of pads, I think this is a really great option for a neutral headphone that I assume would scale well with different ampsā¦ Still waiting for my tubes to come in to try it with that, but I am excited!
Gonna order those pads right now. Only bad thing about the comfort is those stock pads
Yeah I would highly recommend it. I got them from Drop, but I think they are the exact same price as I got them on Amazon right now but without waiting 1 month for them to ship lol
Iām on canada and, for whatever reason, had to use āincognito modeā to even see the Earpadz. Hereās the Amazon link:
Will buy soon, because I got two pairs of old, āabandonedā HD280 Pros. Maybe theyāll sound better with this (doesnāt ship to canada for now, though).
These are the amazon.ca links, but, both are unavailable (from amazon.ca) for now:

Ok, what the hell, lol.
Their Earpadz arenāt even on the Dekoniās website, HD280 Pros arenāt even in their list, they bought Earpadz.com for the Earpadz:

https://earpadz.com/product/replacement-ear-pads-for-the-sennheiser-hd280-series-headphones-earpadz-jerzee-series/
Wow that is really weirdā¦ I have no idea why they did that lol
Hi
So Iām a newbie to this forum. Just signed up to ask about your experience with sound isolation / noise attention with the new earpads? Is it as good as stock is there more leakage now?
I love the idea of getting greater comfort and more bass but I use these for recording so preventing leakage that can be picked up by microphones is a big priority.
Any thoughts you can share?
Just hooked these up to give them a test for you and I can definitely say the sound isolation is very good with the Midnight pads. I donāt think the jerzee would give you great isolation because of the material, but yeah the midnight pads are great. As long as you donāt have the volume up ridiculously loud the isolation is really good. Not sure the differences compared to the stock pads as I havenāt used them in a while, but I think itās a pretty safe bet that youād be able to change the pads.
Just a warning though that the sound signature may be a bit different compared to the stock pads if you are using them for recording and what not. Hope this helped!
Sorry for the late reply. Didnāt get the notification in my email. Much Appreciated! I did end up getting them and very happy!.
Haha no worries man, glad to hear that you are happy with them!
That was exactly what I wanted to know about these compared to the New HD 280 Pro (and the discontinued HD 380 Pro)
I need to decide on a high noise attenuation set of headphones and my options are those three.
Tonight I got a great surprise and pulled my HD280 Pros out of mothballs and have connected them to the Denon AVR-2808ci using of all things my cable box as a streamer. Audio follows an optical path into the receiver. I completely forgot how nice a pairing these 2 were. Sublime! I kinda think these are the Gen 1s though. Either way, this is great!
