🔶 Sennheiser HD560s

From amazon. It was listed as the balanced cable for the HD599. 2.5mm TRRS to 2.5mm TRRS. Then I use a 2.5mm TRRS to 4-pin XLR.

" NewFantasia HiFi Cable with 2.5mm Trrs Balanced Male for Sennheiser HD598 / HD558 / HD518 / HD598 Cs / HD599 / HD569 / HD579 Headphones and for Astell&Kern AK240 AK380 AK320 onkyo DP-X1 FIIO"

Does anyone use a carrying hard case for the 560s and which is it?

I use this one for my HD58X. It fits well and it’s holding well since the beginning of the year. An sice it fits the 598, I imagine it fits the 560s.

BRAVO SENNHEISER !!!

-You did it again-

You had me with the HD424 at the time.
You had me with the HD600
with the HD660S, theHD800S,
You could also inspire me with the Momentum True Wireless.

And NOW you have me AGAIN with the HD560S

How do you know if a headphone is really good?

Some say: technical skills, or details, clarity is an argument, or stage, a slaping bass that goes as deep as possible, and many other arguments are put forward to justify why one headphone is superior to the other.

Everything may be right;

For my part, I see it a little differently:

A really good headphone is a pair of headphones that I use again and again, consciously or unconsciously, I just want to hear them as often and as intensely as possible.

In the past weeks I had and have received some really good headphones that I was allowed to listen to.
I kept some of them and sent a few back.

The Beyerdynamic’s T1 + T5 3rd Gen., both went back after a week, because I found them to be insufficient for the price called up.

The HifiMan Ananda, which is generally rated very positively; He certainly is. (to keep)

The iBasso SR2 are extremely impressive open back headphones with powerful bass. (to keep)

My passion, the GRADO GS3000e, which for historical reasons simply belongs to my headphone collection. (to keep)

And the HD560S, the headphones I WANT to spend time with, with which I want to close my eyes to enjoy the music in all its details, which because of their capabilities “speak to me”, so to speak.
Which I hear almost continuously, although I have 19 other over-ear headphones available, some of which are significantly more expensive than the HD560S.

In terms of frequency, I usually have the same request with the Sennheiser headphones in my portfolio.
That’s the way it is.

So, am I Sennheiser Fan Boy?

Perhaps  :relaxed:

Great attitude about headphones, I find myself wearing the 560s a lot too! Now, other than music, they’re my go-to headphone for Zoom calls and Teams meetings! No more wearing Grados or wood Fostex cans, revealing my hobby… People see these and think “oh, ive seen those Sennheisers on Amazon before” instead of “why are you wearing an antique wooden church bench on your head?”

One more review, and a take on the difference in reviews of the headphone.

The fact importing the 59x costs 220€ including 19% sales tax, the 560s is the killer of all headphones I’d say. I never heard a better headphone than the jubilee where I do not waste money on design and still confuse game audio with real life sounds. I wish there would be an other company in Germany competing with similar audio. Tbh after the 1770 pro which I did not like and the bad custom studio, I think beyer, for me, only has the dt770pro to offer.

what’s the cable you are using in the first pic? honestly curious and looking for better cables for my headphones. The 10 footers from Sennheiser are too long for my setup and I want something shorter but with excellent quality.

So, when do you guys think these will be widely available? Black Friday? You think they’ll be any deals for them around that time? I hate waiting for things, but it doesn’t seem like they’ll really be available for purchase until then anyway. Thoughts?

So, ended up grabbing a used set of these off head-fi. Pretty darn good. Only had a short listen. I’ll give them some time and give some impressions.

Oh, there are a couple of other sets on head-fi for $180-$190, FYI.

Sweet. I’ve been enjoying these quite a bit the last few days. Look forward to those impressions :+1: I should leave some of my own here too eventually.

Well, hard to know what else you should ask for in a $200 headphone. Vocals are very natural. The 560s is lacking the resolution of higher end models (Focal), but the timbre is very natural. Really fantastic presentation. Definitely a winner, IMHO.

I’m gonna give them a good week or so, and I’ll compare to my Elear.

Impression, okay. It’s got a wide even soundstage, nice detailed treble, extended bass. All these things are new to me when it comes to sennheiser as I’m only familiar with the 600 family.

Signature is neutral bright and if anything is going to bother it’ll probably be the flat bass (great quality/so so quantity) or the elevation I hear somewhere in the lower treble/upper mids.

Personally I got used to the flat bass after acclimation was achieved which actually is very full and punchy with electronic bass. The elevation I spoke of rarely bothered me but isn’t the best match for classic rock or metal.

I see the competition as things like the dt880 600 ohm and the sundara and imo the 560s competes and has it’s place. I used the Asgard 3 with the internal multibit dac for these impressions. I feel like the 560s will perform closer to its potential on a 100 buck amp (liquid spark would be my rec) than either the 880 or sundara will so the 560s is potentially the easier recommendation.

Imo It’s not dethroning the 600 series headphones. I prefer it over the 600 on solid state. 650/6XX is really nice on solid state too but if you’re sticking with a budget amp maybe the 560s wins :man_shrugging:

I agree with basically all this.

You’re getting the wonderful Senn vocal presentation, but I feel like the 560s is a more well rounded experience than the 6XX. I’m also listening on an A3. I haven’t tried it on the BTR5 yet–which I’ll have to do. I did put an order in for a cheap balanced cable from China, but I’ll have to wait a while for it to get here.

Well, I am thoroughly impressed with the 560s. I’ve had the Elear for a couple of months now, and have really been enjoying it, but the Senns…

Comparing them, I’d say the Elear is definitely more dynamic, and has more impact, more body to the sound… The Senns are a bit cleaner, a bit sharper, more intimate vocals.

I think I may prefer the Senns if I am being honest. Seem like a great value for $200. My only real gripe is the cable–it is long and spindly and has a gigantic 1/4 to 3.5 adapter. I wish they would have included a second shorter cable that terminated in 3.5.

Listening on a Modius / A3 stack (also tried on the BTR5 and it was fine).

I picked up a pair of these a couple weeks ago, and I really like them. Probably not quite as good as the initial dms hype made them out to be, but also not mediocre like the backlash to that hype made them sound. Really natural timbre, good soundstage, and a little bright. They are also super easy to drive.

P.S. if anyone has a PS5 yet, the controller’s headphone output is way more powerful than PS4’s controller. The 560s are deafeningly loud at like 3/4 volume.

I can second this. I also have a ps5 and my th900 gets plenty loud off of the controller.

Very surprised about Zeos’ take on these headphones, given how the DT880 600 ohm is on his wall.

Tl;dw He says it’s way too analytical and sounds amazing only on well-recorded tracks. He fully recommends only if you have a tube amp, otherwise it’s a half-recommend depending on use case.
