Enjoying the soloist 3XP this morning! Will try op amp rolling next week. Only things left on my shopping list this year is a new streamer and some monitors for my desk. Should be good for awhile after that.

That would imply… more stuff! I am intrigued.
So far it’s been pretty great, I’m coming up on a year of use and it’s been solid. I’m just at the point where I’ve outgrown it, so next will either be a second one or possibly a 36/42U size instead.

possibly. i have a few things i’m planning on picking up in the next 6 months… including another tube amp and dac. I actually had to decommision my Crack to make the eddie current fit and the power supply for the EC doesn’n fit either.

Excellent. Looking forward to seeing it. I’m thinking about adding a tube HP amp to the setup here as well. I think it would be a nice add. Still considering budget.

I basically ran out of room and ideas for stacking stuff in the office so I moved a rack over into my near field testing room and set it up next to my chair. Looks are completely utilitarian but very convenient and super easy to swap equipment in this room.
Using my favorite flavored DAC, Border Patrol SE fully upgraded, going to my new to me, PASS HPA-1 via Roon and I am really enjoying the quality of the music being reproduced.
Laid back, smooth, full sound that just lulls me into a relaxed state allowing me to close my eyes and let the stress of the daily grind flow out of me once the music envelopes my ears.
I think I will keep this rack here, it allows for endless easy to swap combinations of equipment with minimal cabling and short runs next to a very comfortable chair I can better nap on

@db_Cooper The Pi is currently doing full time streaming duty as a Roon endpoint on the desktop replacing my struggling laptop. Works excellent, and very pleased overall for price and performance ratio. On the rack I require a USB output for some of the various pieces I own so direct from my surface pro thingy works well in here for now…maybe another Pi unit that also offers USB output in the future

For USB out only duties, they’re cheap enough. You just need a Pi, a memory card and a case, can be had for around $60 bucks. I know you’re tripping over power supplies. If you feed the USB from the Pi into a reclocker, you’ve an even more solid solution.
