I do 1 or 2 o’clock on high gain depending on the song. The other gain settings are too low for my taste. I got used to listening to the DV at admittedly unhealthy levels so when I cranked up the volume more than this I heard some clipping. It’s still really loud though.

One of my favorite, non-fatiguing, and just fun to listen to headphones.
I have others, of course. I was just being playful. I just received the stand and posted on another forum.
I think everyone should own a pair, and at the price, everyone can.

But overall your happy with the setup? The Elex is a higher tier than the HD650 if I understand correct.
Yes, I would definitely recommend it. I also just got the Sivga which isn’t as good sonically (still great though) but so much more comfortable. I’m glad I have both.

Thoughts so far on the clear?
I’ve only listened to them for about a hour now so I’m gonna wait until I get some more listen time to give my opinion, but I will say it is very obvious right from the gate that these are of a higher caliber in both build and sound quality compared to every other headphone I’ve listened to.
Gonna give it a few days for my brain to adjust and then I’ll type up some impressions.

I see you are using the D10 as your Dac, how the sound quility and what did you have before?
The d10 is feeding my emotiva a100 for my speakers and the darkvoice. Not actually using it for most of my headphones… But it sounds great for the price. I’ve no complaints. Very clean sounding.
