Its actually not an australis, I was able to get eudis to make a one-off for me. Its a TH X00 Driver tuned to have ebony bass, but hd 650/6xx mids and highs.

Wow. Did they offer the tuning, or did you request it? Iād imagine youād have to be pretty skilled to claim you can replicate that tuning combo and pull it off
Eudis had made one in the past as a personal side project, I saw it on AVexchange and asked for a custom one.

Turns out I never get to enjoy most of my āendgameā cans, they all just get used for testing cables >_<.
Aside from all that my main setup at home is a THX desktop amp. And at the dayjob I use the SU-8 / SH-8 combo, and on the go itās the M11. Generally listening to my Sendy Aivaās and KZS10 Pro IEMs the most. Miss my T60RPs a lot, but they pretty much stay at the HAC office to use for testing these days.

General thoughts so far because Iāve only had it for a couple nights but itās a big step up from using the DX7 Pro as a DAC. (Kinda makes me not want to buy any more Topping stuff in the future)
The main thing so far is just the level of detail is so much more. Hearing things in songs (and I tend to listen to the same stuff over and over again) that is making me say, āOh, wow!ā a lot.
Glad I went though the effort to make the change. Wonder how much better it will sound as it burns in and my ears/brain get used to the different sound.

Topping makes some good budget gear, but once you get into their higher end, imo Iām not as big of a fan (I will be getting my hands on the e30 fairly soon because that seems pretty sweet)

I doubt itās what he disliked.
The big thing about better DACās is they way they stage and separate.
The Bifrost is a very clear step up than any of the budget options Iāve listened to.

Better put than I was about to. My issue with the Topping combo DACS, was I was missing that 3D quality I havenāt had since the Pro-Ject Pre Box. I was chasing headphones when the issue was the DAC. Upgrading to the Bifrost 2 showed me what Iāve been missing for over a year. Topping DACS just had this flat sound.
