Fiio K5 Pro
Denafrips Ares II DAC
Singxer SA-1 AMP via Optical from my PC.
HE6SE V2s modded with Audeze headband and openback grill mod.
yes number 275 great sounding headphone.
Think I’m done… maybe trying different amps in the future tho.
The iBasso SR2 are kinda perfect so far.
HD25 with custom cans pads for DJ stuffs.
Fiio FH3 with Kbear Rhyme cable, everything running thru Motu M2.
Kali LP6 connected aswell
Still looking for a complementary pair of closed-backs (Celestee maybe?), but my current endgame setup. Loving the BF2 → Jot2 → Clear Mg for analytical listening, and the BF2 → DarkVoice → 6XX for some warm, tubey goodness!
Yeah I’m probably done for a bit.
Pi2AES → Bifrost 2 → Bottlehead Crack w/ Speedball OR GSX mini → HD800S/Verite Closed
I just realized everything except the HD800S is American gear
Allo digione signature → RME ADI-2 → Flux Lab Acoustics FA-12 → LCD-4z. Not pictured is HD800S, Ether CX, HD6XX, HE-6SE but I mostly just use the 4z and the 800S
Nice setup.
How do you like the 4z? It’s one of the headphones I’m interested in.
For the genres that I listen to the most, electronic, metal, pop, rap, pretty much anything with a strong bassline, the 4z is a great headphone. It’s the sort of headphone I can put on and just enjoy the music and not get distracted by the flaws in the recording. It’s definitely detailed but not in a way that I find to be overly fatiguing. I prefer the 800S for acoustic music as the bass in the 4z can sometimes be too much for those genres and the treble is not as airy as I would like. But for an all round headphone I think it’s a good choice.
Is the FA-12 enough power for the 4z and 800s?
Yeah definitely. I don’t go above 1 o’clock on medium gain for either headphone. I’m interested in trying something like the FA-10 for the 800S but I don’t feel like I don’t have enough power for either headphone
I don’t know how it sounds but that GS-X Mini really is just sooooo good-looking.
As pretty as it is, it’s not going to play nice with a LOT of setups. It’s an unapologetically resolving amp.
Nah, the Verite is next.
Oh I am sure it is … someday!!
Next week at this rate…
