I just know this thing will have so much mojo… When can we expect your website to open
I sent the final tuning to a few trusted people to give me feedback so maybe a few weeks
I’m really curious about this. To me… And I am a graph noob… It reminds me of a graph I saw a while back. Sivga nightingale… This iem I have had my eye on because a popular reviewer LOVED that iem for metal music. He described the sound as it being really special and unique but perfect for metal. I am by no means yours is going to sound like that but I appreciate people going with what they enjoy and not staying within a confined box.
It is no where near the nightengale as you can see here.
I can say this will play metal better than a lot of sets. I’ve been jamming Deftones and Turnstile nonstop and those bands sound probably the best ive ever heard.
I probably should have gone and looked at the graph before saying that. I was going based on memory. Sorry about that. I can’t wait to see how it turns out. I def want to buy one if it’s within my budget
this is what the industry/hobby needs more of, people who do something truly unique!
Thanks man! There is zero point reinventing the wheel. My personality is basically if someone says DO THIS I do the opposite just because.
In the end people can buy 1000s of IEMs that are tuned normally, im here to break the mold if nothing else… maybe fail out.
We definitely need more mold breaking (or reconfiguring). I just went to CanJam London and listened to a lot of IEMs, which made me realise something (with the caveat concerning how it’s dependent on a lot of personal factors of course). There are many good IEMs out there but they are, at the same time, variations of or, rather, competing with other good IEMs. There are way fewer IEMs that do something new / unique so let the Anomaly be exactly that.
You know, Im making a bet that Anomaly is the largest sounding IEM ever made, and probably the most viscerally 3D. Time will tell.
I’m no betting man but I sure want to wager a bet on that
Imagine for a moment, an IEM that has really no upper limit with volume. Sure you will go deaf but nothing peaks ever.
Well, at least we’ll all go deaf for a good cause then I’m pretty sure a lot of folks will be lining up for this one.
On a different subject, I have an iem ive been messing with which is called Moonshot for now.
Designed for 2x 10mm DDs… I’ve been messing around with a BE coated one for the bass but so far it’s not working out well. Decided to try it as a big… passive driver. That works really nice.
As expected the 10mm BE driver absorbs some of the midbass keeping the subs in tact. Is it better? I am not sure but the tech works. No vents. No pressure build up
The idea here is to try literally every IEM tech that exists, fail out or not, trying is win.
That early pinna rise reminds me of that old southern saying of vote early, vote often.
First Anomaly review:
"Dynamite , C4 , Nitro glycerine/ best of yet to come from the shortbus , scales to volume so damn well, bass is on point frequency of bass is perfect match to the rest of the frequency range,Mids are standout unbelievable tone is so on point I believe directly related to the staging , so far away but so in your face in a kind gentle way , no harshnes to scale and bass right behind it to nail the low end down in a very balanced as you need it manner , so freaking cool ,how can a iem such as the ANOMALY carry such weight and provide the softness of all frequencies that are good ,seems you have managed to capture all the musical notes in a tight cohesion but, let out into a widened space with undertones that bring tightness and technicality at stage while allowing this great space to filled in a 3~D manner I’ve not heard before , even in headphones. almost total encapsulation of the music front /center / wide sides and perfectly matched channels left to right . So totally cool, guitars ,all kinds sound like they shoukd with no overlap or interference, balnce is amazing ,separation sets new territory for me but it’s that taghtness to the tone and rythum that capture me , This iem likes volume and happy to scout along a a brisk pace giving all the good stuff, balanced, and savory to a point that is hard to imagine without giving it a listen, Size is small for how damn poerfuls iem is ,in your ears with softear uc tips it is like they are not even there …much like sitting between two really good floor standing speakers that arr vnot to close and not to far away, stage is phenomenal lending itself to that respect of being in the building sitting exacltly where you want to hear the best the room you are in has to offer, Furthermore the acoustical information glides.
This changes the game in my book This iem will carry a lot of weight with the reviews that will follow it’s introduction, It is like having the best seat in the house anywhere you go which is the whole idea right ? You absolutely nailed the stage on this iem ,you single handedly gave us and experience that will override any of our previous experience listening to iems . jusy saying , the way you were able to capture the surround nature of the music but holding tight to stage and separation in the middle which is perfectly in the middle ,great job on that !"
Congratulations! That sounds like the uniqueness you were aiming for Also:
This is definitely one I am interested in.
Man just really excited to learn more about this and hopefully an idea on the target price.
Failing also is a win if you learned a lot from it.
I can tune DDs like crazy at this point! I’ve heard from other people that the type of DD doesnt matter they are all basically the same given the same graph. Those people are dead wrong.
I finally got in custom springs made press-fit the driver to build the iem quickly and perfectly. Decided to use a screw instead of any glue. I need to counter sink the screw a hair better but the build is fully optimized… and if something is off its trivial to fix things… or mod. Just the way god intended.
