That’s why he’s my loveable asshole friend with a heart of gold ![]()
Listen, Dave knows how I feel about his music choice ![]()
Love or dislike or a mixture of the two lol
I’m gonna guess a mix, leaning towards one extreme haha. I will say that W.A.S.P fucks though.
And just to prove that you can’t write Dave off (maybe get myself written off here haha), he did share this the other day and even if you don’t know the source for the arrangements, I think it’s a pretty great listen (if you dig a Future Funk/smooth jazz vibe):
Nothing, I hit the delete button because my fingers are stoned. Don’t worry about it.
1st track: The instruments and stage are on point, the vocals are like IN MY FACE.. but not peaky really. I could almost sing along if it wasn’t cringe to the extreme. Vocals are very strong though. You can def hear the entire track bottom to top. It’s just compressed so much.
8/10
2nd track. Very compressed as the 1st track, Hard to find a good middle ground for volume. All layers are distinct and separated… as much as can be expected for shit mixing. Still, enjoyable. Better than 90% of chifi due to the stage.
8/10
3rd track. WASP. White Anglo Saxton Protestant. The midrange vocals are a clusterfuck of compression and high mids. Somehow Anomaly lets the track be okay without scooping the mids. It feels like you would be okay with how this sounds on an 80s boom box system. Anomaly does that mojo.
8/10
I never write Mister Dave Esquire off. He represents one slightly extreme version of mixing and sound. All good in my eyes. I just don’t like it which doesn’t matter one bit. If Anomaly needs to be good, it must do everything at least well if not amazing.
(edit) the track you posted is fucking the shit on this iem, and I know you know how it should sound. Id give it 9.5/10 of 10/10 for your iem ![]()
Hot-fuckin’-dog! Happy as hell to read that my lowly compressed music still gets sweet mojo from your tunings as usual, so I can only imagine how less compressed tunes will blow my dick off as you usually put things. ![]()
Less compressed mixes bloom to a degree not many iems can even think of.
Hope it’s not a bother but when you have time could you do me a small favor and take a look at a DM I sent you? I’d appreciate it man. ![]()
I looked but i have too many, send another or just ask here.
Bro just to mention again. This blew me away. To be honest I thought it was some synthwave/vaporwave shit, so I was like YES. Today I looked at what it was.. Mega MAN2?! Mind blown. lol
It’s an unwritten to rule to always check out a Mega Man remix whenever one pops up. ![]()
Alrighty ![]()
So I’ve got Glamdring Raven on loan and I am just curious what was the mission and/or goal with the tuning on it.
To mach the EE Raven tuning as much as possible. Do you like it?
I do, The Rock Rolls On goes satifyingly smooooth
thats cool man, glad you got a listen!
Hell yeah, this would be one of my default tunings to listen to either harsh to harsh-ish recordings or relax and/or fall asleep with. Fits perfectly alongside other great sets with that kind of mojo (minus the awesome 3D of course) like QKZ x HBB and Kai ![]()
Cool Cool. I did my best with that one to get it right on the money. I felt like it was a good way to tune a planar. I was kind of going through Squigs and finding stuff i could actually tune to. It was perfect.
Awesome job man. I do consider the sweet sweet Glamdring you tuned for me a much more all-rounder for my tastes, but I wouldn’t kick that Glamdring-Raven outta bed and miss out on an amazing threesome.
