Should i buy a $500 IEM as my first IEM?

I think he made a mistake. You had to buy the Variations, because in time you will buy them … :)))))

Not a mistake. Big box + Variations cable? Think that means he got the Blon-03, right?

Listening to the blessing 2 feels like wearing a clean pair of glasses after seeing the world through dirty glasses my whole life. It is different

Ah  B2 is a nice pick. I’m thinking about a Dusk for my collection

I actually find the blessing 2’s bass to be adequate for my liking. The sound is so clean and so good at what it does it is just amazing. The Blessing 2 dusk is like a less detailed Variations I suppose

The Blessing 2 is one hell of an IEM for its price tag. I tell people all of the time, if you want to know what the Mest MKII sounds like, it is the Blessing 2.

Actually, they are almost identical.

Here is the real detail monster…

Technicals are equal to dusk, right? I think I’ll like the Dusk more (BASSSSS)

Similar in terms of sound signature or details?

When I got the Dusk, I went back and forth between the Dusk and the Variations for a few hours trying to tell them apart. They are extremely similar. In the end I don’t think it matters much.

The conclusion I came to was that if I had to choose between them, I’d choose the Variations. I think the timbre of the EST drivers were a bit softer but the Dusks BA’s might be slightly more detailed. It really is a toss up.

Anyone wanting to save 200 bucks though should totally go for the Dusk. The Variations is in now way 200 dollars better. I literally bought the Dusk just to find this out.

Of all the IEMs I’ve heard, the Mest MKII sounds most similar in general to the Blessing 2. I see it as the Blessing 2 is a baby Mest MKII.

The Mest is better in just about every way especially technically with imaging, soundstage and especially detail and resolution (the Mest MKII is the most detailed IEM I’ve ever heard), but in tuning, they are both tuned very similarly.

I meant b2 vs dusk. I might grab one tbh.

I am one of the people who will gladly pay the $200 for EST drivers handling the top end.

I am too. But I am reading now that treble purists prefer the more harsh representation of BA treble because it contains more detail. Crinacle being one of them. For me, I don’t care if the treble is more present yet not painful to listen to. I still think the best treble ever in an IEM is the Monarch. It is perfect.

I’m confused. The Dusk is just a re-tuned Blessing 2. There are no differences in drivers. But because of the way the Dusk is tuned, it sounds less detailed than the Blessing 2.

The Dusk and the Variations have waaaaay more bass than the Blessing 2.

Grab what?

I don’t mind sharp treble in DD sets. Or at least it doesn’t wear on me like BA treble does.

It all depends on the set, but I love the treble in the Oxygen. I actually love everything about the Oxygen.

The FD5 treble gets annoying for me.

I am actually liking the FD3 more for it’s treble then the massive bass. It is not very refined treble and it shouts “hey look at me” but it doesn’t hurt like BA treble and brings a energy to the top that is needed against the very V shape that it has.
