That look very nice!

Is it like ZMF’s stabilized wood it is it stained/died?

Ohhhh so good looking…I wanted the ruby red ones sooo bad but missed out on them…:worried:

They are stabilized. I think they came in 2 colors, not sure how “limited edition” they are.

I think I would have okay with either color. Ruby red was :fire: for me too tho.

Fresh wood in da house

Forgot to post these this morning. Felt the light made my GH-2 look good.

The grain looks good and the photo came out nice.

JVC SW01, pretty surprised it actually landed on Drop this week. You can actually see what the wood dome driver is about in the second photo

Do those actually sound good? I feel like wood is a less than optimal driver material.

Personally I think so, provided that you accept the JVC house sound, that is, if you have tried IEMs like FW001/FW1800/ (NOT FW10000) and you like it. Warm, dark, and really good texture and timbre in the lower end (so pretty good for jazz), but it takes some time to get used to (the somewhat lack of air in the treble and perceived veil that makes it a bit amp picky).

It’s weird since the fw10k is really different imo, it’s pretty diffuse field tuned almost, bright and focused on upper midrange and treble, and also slightly leaner leaning. Still very good texture and timbre, but the tuning is pretty different than some of the other jvc woodies

Yeah, I probably shouldn’t have said that one, it’s a lot more neutral and brighter than the other two. But perhaps compared to other single DD IEMs in the same price bracket it still retains that house sound?

Yeah the other jvc woodies are more along what you describe, just wanted to note the fw10k being a pretty different outlier
