Iā€™m always at a desk. Either home or office. On the move I have W2 and a DAP.

I know that this is a extreme example but I just got an old iPod Photo (Classic 4th Generation), just for the nostalgic felling and I had in memory that this iPod sounded really good (it has a Wolfson Dac), but on man there is a night day difference even compared to my Fiio K1, Mele has no bass on the iPod (and Mele is a easy to drive IEM), everything sounded congested.

So I think that source do make a difference but I think that for modern amp/dac at some point the diminishing returns hits, especially if you just use IEMs.

After 100-200$, dimishing returns hit HARD on sources. A DAC like ZEN V2 will take you places :slight_smile:

Yes, you are right so many IEMs do really scale with better sources ā€¦ But typically for me the higher price IEMs they do scale really well and respond to sources differentlyā€¦

Most IEMs are easy to drive, but they pair really well with amp. BTR5 or Qudelix 5K can source them easily.

I wanna hear how does EJ07m scale with better sources. Iā€™d love for it to be portable so I can bring it to office aswell or stack with dap.
