I disagree that the imaging is “pretty good”, I think it’s as good as it gets in IEMs (at least per my personal experiences). Soundstage on the 07M/KL is above average, maybe not the widest but still expansive and natural IMO.

:beers::beers:

you said it better than I did!

Yeah you guys got my S12 to me in the UK via Yanwen in 7 days from payment. Crazy! Meanwhile, a certain seller on AliX used Cainiao & PostNL and it hasn’t left China in 22 days and counting

My Kinda Lavas (stealth edition) arrived - my photography skills are sorely lacking, pix don’t do these justice, they look stunning especially in the sun we got today:

Now for a listen :notes:

Thanks - took ages over deciding on faceplate until I saw the EJ09 images on their website, and asked which option would match that. Until then the half black/half red one was top choice.

Quick question - did your KLs arrive in standard EJ07M box or x HBB packaging?

Mine came in the xHBB packaging, as seen here: What did you buy today? (Part 2) - #3255 by Sonofholhorse

As Letshuoer said, “Impulse the emotion” :ear: :moneybag:đŸ«Č:joy:

So then I pulled the trigger during Easter sale :rabbit2:

First impression, vocals and instruments are smoother than my Tea2. Still doing “burn-in”.

My most comfortable filter so far is the small stock eartips from my Tea2.

Imaging is not as good as is gets. MEST MK2 destroys it. It is very noticably on another level in terms of imaging - and stage.

Everyone hears differently, and to my ears the imaging is on par or at least ~90% of the way there between the two. That being said, the MEST mkII DOES have a special feeling the EJ07m doesn’t deliver. If I had to put a label on it, I guess I’d call it ‘engagement’? It’s like: I use the EJ07m to chill with the music, while the MEST mkII puts me IN the music. Absolutely love them both.

I couldn’t take the idea of stealing the nice eartips of my Tea2 for KL and I couldn’t accept the fitting of the smallest eartip of KL so I went to an audio shop 30 mins away from home and got me a small Spinfit 145 which is almost the same size of the smallest eartip stock of KL but thinner.

After a few hours of burn in:

  • Wider soundstage than Tea2, although I feel it lacks height.

  • Vocals are clean and well emphasized, I’ve managed to hear and distinct the second voice/s clearly which I don’t notice on Tea2, the macro details are there.

  • Beautiful Mids. I’ve been to band rehearsals and live performances. I feel like I’m situated at the front stage where I hear macro details that cannot be heard from the back. The kick of the drums and slams of cymbals and vocals.

  • Female vocals can sound harsh on some songs.

  • I feel like KL is brighter than Tea2 but not fatiguing so it’s still warm. Tea2 feels more laid back.

  • They have different presentation. I feel like Tea2 wraps around your head where the sound is everywhere and so soundstage feels narrow and music feels nearer on your ear, vocals are more near and instruments are 1/2 step back from vocals. While KL I feel like you’re at the front stage, instruments are more emphasized and vocals are 1 step back from instruments. Because of this KL feels more faithful to the musical presentation of the songs and is able to show a wider soundstage. I am able to pinpoint where the instruments and voice are coming from on KL than Tea2. Even while playing FPS on KL I am able to point out how far my enemy’s footsteps than on Tea2 I feel they’re almost always near to me because the presentation seems always forward.

  • I feel like KL is more lively analytical and Tea2 is leaning to be more laid back fun.

This is just my early impression/comparison after making my Tea2 my daily driver. I’ll be spending more time on KL and see if there are more surprises, so far I’m loving it :star_struck:

If you can source them then Sony’s EP-EX10A’s are apparently made from Unicorn’s eyelids :man_shrugging: and my go to for soft compliant tips :+1:

Thanks! Let me try and find one. I feel like my search for comfort and isolation is not yet done for KL

If you like spinfits, cp100 is the way!

I might try that if I can’t find Sony :slightly_smiling_face: I have CP 100 although I got the small size. I find that the sound is shouty because of poor isolation on my ear, I’ll try the medium size.

Sadly didn’t find EX10A’s on all the audio shops I know. I went for medium CP 100+ tips instead. The isolation and comfort is fine but they stick like a glue on my ears upon removal :joy:
