The original Tape still needs EQ to cut the 3.5k peak though. But even without EQ it outclasses the pro as wellā€¦

Oh myā€¦is it really that bad? Yeah Iā€™ll save up for the non-Pro tapes then.

Its one of the worst iem I have heard that cost so muchā€¦

I have been listening to my Tape Pro for the past 3 days and i would like to share my impressions.
Iā€™m glad I got it because it works extremely well with my library and glad I listened to some of you on this thread and not the reviews or the comments that do not provide any context and just exclaim that it is a bad IEM.

These are my most expensive IEMs so keep that in perspective with everything I say below.

Sound quality: they work wonders for Techno (electronic music in general), hip-hop and classical which makes 80% of what I listen to. Iā€™ve only listened to them in the bass mode, the bass is strong but not bass head level and very clean. Sub-bass is there but a bit more recessed.

Listening to Plastikman - Disconnect, the ā€œbip bipā€ sounds at the beginning have some reverb but they are handled well with speed and good separation. The bass that comes later is strong and controlled. Then comes in the male voice and it is clear and forward.

For Rock and Pop music however I found, like the other reviewers, that the tonality is a bit off. Guitars sound a bit strange and voices are a bit nasally.

TLDR - they have good bass (tunable), good mids, great details and separation (very well done on classical songs). Avoid it for Rock and Pop. Get it if you like electronic music!!!

Other notes:
The treble doesnā€™t bother me because I am most sensitive to 4-5k peaks.
The shape of the IEM itself can hurt your ear, but with the right tip thatā€™s not too small in diameter the IEM will not touch your ears.
The nozzle is not too long but has pretty aggressive angle, therefore I ended up using Medium Final Type E tips instead of Large.
The cable is nice but if you are using 3.5mm, the 90Ā° adapter can make the connector too long and in the way. Better use the 2.5mm end.

Update on TP:

I ended up going back to the stock tips (the white ones) and i removed the threaded nozzle filter because it is way to wide and makes it uncomfortable for my ears. Now confort is 10/10.

I placed tuning foam inside the nozzle and now it sounds Fuller and better with every genres. The voices, piano and guitars are fuller now and not as recessed.
