I just got mine in. The review of it is coming pretty soon. I paid full retail for this and it’s a real treasure. I’m very impressed by it, and think it’s an instant buy for those who want to hear what a 90-dollar iem can sound like. Wow.
Just got mine as well!
First, excellent channel matching Simgot!!
Impressions to follow as I’ve EQ’d them the same to my EA1000 EQ target as best I could…
Well, long story short it’s the same deal as EA500 OG vs EA1000 for me as in EA500 has more bass impact but everything else is worse than the EA1000 and the same holds for the LM version
For my ears, EA1000 has perfect mid and treble timber where as in comparison EA500 LM sounds tinny in the treble and squealy in the mids.
Though there’s the thing with isolation and the EA500 LM are definitely more isolating than the EA1000 which is basically like you’re using open-back headphones just inserted in your ears lol
Campfire audio taking notes
It was the low hanging fruit I couldn’t resist today soz
My EA500LM definitely has more bass than the the EA500OG. No treble or upper mid glare on the 500LM yet still very defined treble notes.
Welcome friend! Which nozzles you using? Red?
To those who have tried the Simgot EA500LM
I currently own the BLON BL-03 and while I appreciate their sound, I find them uncomfortable for extended use. My budget for an upgrade is up to $180, and I don’t have a DAC/Amp setup. I’ve been eyeing a few options and would love your insights:
Letshuoer S12 Pro - ₹12990 ~ $156
Simgot EA500 LM - ₹7599 ~ $92
Kiwi Ears Melody - ₹7699 ~ $94
Hidizs MP145 - ₹13999 ~ $168
Truthear Nova - ₹14990 ~ $180
Sennheiser IE200 - ₹8990 ~ $108
7Hz Timeless (pre-owned) - ₹14000 ~ $168
Considering my focus on an enjoyable sound and then the comfort
I’m keen on your experiences and recommendations. Any other suggestions within the budget are also appreciated.
It came with gold attached, but when I checked my OG500, I had the silver nozzle on…so I put the silver/red nozzle on the 500LM. I like the OG a lot, but there is enough difference from the Li/Mg driver to make the 500LM worth having. For $90 it is a quality IEM. I’m sure I’ll use the LM more than the OG. I’m using it with the HiBy R6III, 4.4mm.
EA1000 is still Simgot’s best IEM so far.
LM is really good though & a different flavor if you want something a bit warmer with mids a little further back in the mix. The clarity of the EA1000 is exceptional.
Indeed, different folks different strokes. I find that clarity to be fatiguing on long use.
I was going to get the Simgot Fermat EA1000 but when the LM came out for a lot less dosh, I got the EA500LM. I know the EA1000 will be a level up in many ways… BUT with the $190 dollars difference I put the savings towards the Tansio Mirai 10th Anniversary X…which is on it’s way.
Got the Simgot EA500LM and the dongle DEW4X today, another good release from them. Yes the EA500LM is an upgrade from original EA500 with richer sound, but also lack something to the EA1000. Differences is not night and day, and EA500LM is clearly the one most should aim after unless you can afford the EA1000.
Dongle testing have to wait to tomorrow.
Beautiful photos as per usual, @Leonarfd You captured the light changing design of the boxes really well.
How does the EA500LM fares in comparison to the Dunu Falcon Ultra ?
Careful how long you look into those shiny shells…
Nice Pictures
Looking forward to hearing about how competitive simgot is in the dongle arena.
I sent you a reply…did you get it? I just got an undeliverable notification a day later.
No I didn’t got any reply.
First impression is good on the dongle, compared to the older Truthear Shio it seem to be higher resolving the DEW4X. SHIO can seem a little dull sounding when I swap over, of course not day and night. But seem like a good upgrade from the early Cirrus Logic dongles of 2023.
Need to try more over the week, and against the Penon Tail that I prefer more than the SHIO.
Love the size, its tiny.
I would love a comparison of the Simgot models with the Kato. On ***-fi, the Kato is usually trashed. But, I see their points using the Kato single-ended and with the Spring tips. I find that using ePro horns and going balanced with a decent dongle like the Moonriver 2 Ti or an L&P dongle turns the Kato into my favorite all-rounder. That configuration opens up the soundstage, calms the hint of shout, and gives the Kato a more organic note timbre and weight to the Kato.
If Kato is anything shouty to you, then stay clear away from the Simgots.
