This actually works without blasting my ears out. Rebelamp doesnt ramp up volume too early. Didn’t notice any channel balance on the volumes I was on.

I have been tip rolling and find AZLA Xelastec tips present highs smoother on EA500. Great bass, clean mids, and smooth treble. Extremely comfortable too. It’s my favorite right now.
They are 50% off on Amazon US right now!
Currently doing some tip rolling as well and I am going to try it with my EA500s once it arrives. Spiral Dots ++ for I have heard good things about it but I am not sure how it will sound with my pair for it is originally going to my Heydays to use as primary tips.
Spiral dots are good too on EA500, but I find the bass to be a touch stronger with Xelastec tips
That’s good to hear, though I don’t have to worry about it that much since I am already liking the bass from the stock tips and I am not much of a bass head. It has been like a week since I got these set, and it’s safe to say that I cannot let it go, and I am currently alternating it with the Heydays each use. Really a killer set for its given price.
Finally got mine today. Used stock tips and the fitted filter for around four hours. Good set for the money. I will explore the 2nd filter and different tips tomorrow. The biggest surprise was that the treble was was not overbearing even when playing All Mine by Portishead which tips the scales on some of my other IEMs (Olina, Z12 ). Definitely a keeper.
Someone said the Moondrop nozzle fits the EA500 THEY DO NOT.
The Hidizs MS5 do but the Simgot ones are better.
Aw darn no way I have it finally being delivered tomorrow was looking forward to it
That is a bummer, man. Well, thanks for taking the plunge for the rest of us, brother
I wanted to come back and say I can confirm these findings for my ears as well - the XElastecs have been shelved for almost a year now because I didn’t like the way they sounded for a majority of my collection but on the EA500, they do provide a smoother treble reply, but without sacrificing on any of the details. The bass to me is a touch blunted, losing some texture, but I enjoy the way they sound. I’ll run these for a few days and come back with some more notes - thanks for the Rec!
EA500 with ZDT Jr was too bright for me. Did work on some recordings, but other triggered the need to switch amp immediately.
A minimal of volume play before it gets too loud, just after the end of volume pot channel imbalance. ZDT Jr is not a dead silent amp so there is some hum when music is not playing. Might try this combo later with some impedance adapters and cable rolling.

It’s the clean mids for me. Bass is pretty eh without a mod, but the mids are a complete highlight
Yep, I have Y1 filter on the front nozzle, much better bass quantity. I also modified black nozzles- replaced its filter with Tanya filter. Overall it sounds close to red filters, but I get deeper bass. Stock red nozzle have more air compared to the Tanya nozzle.
My modded black nozzle with stock foam = smooth version. Red nozzle for Vocals, Acoustics when I need it slightly brighter
Hey just want to give a quick update before I measure but my moondrop kato nozzles do in fact fit!!
Maybe you should try putting yours on again! It’s a bit tight at first since they are brand new and they are a bit shorter but they screw in just fine!
The thread is different yes you can put them one but you will strip the threads.
The Hidizs MS5 and EA500 are interchangeable as the threads were the same.
That was my observation.?
Doesn’t seem to be the case with mine.
But so here are my graphs with the Kato nozzles. Not too big a difference honestly haha
I will say that completely subjectively listening to the Kato brass nozzles on them really smooths out the treble
Having spent some time listening to these with both filters and various tips I have concluded that these are the Blon 03s of the sub $100 genre, without the fit issues. Similar looking as well. Black filter for me with Moondrop tips.
After a day or so of the EA500s with various tips I can safely say that the Olinas are being sold , as are the Z12s! I was intending to keep 5 of my IEMs and sell all off the rest (25 sets), but now I shall be keeping 6 sets and selling the remainder.
For those who are curious I shall be keeping the Ikko OH10, 7hz Timeless, Thieaudio Legacy 3 (Bass boost), Kiwi Ears Cadanza, and Truth Ears Hola. Yes, I’m a bit of a cheap-skate on IEMs, however, my main audio outlay is on my stereo and headphones. Mind you, if something new and exciting comes along, then I’m more than willing to splash out for a reasonable purchase.
To be honest a menagerie of cheap to mid-range earphones makes plenty of sense, especially for a combined price below many “high end” sets. The performance is pretty much there, and it’s ready to rock your mood-swings and genre binges.
