šŸ”¶ Sivga P-II

Between the stock and ZMF pads, is there any difference with how hot your ears get?

They are about equal, but the ZMFs are slightly less hot, mostly due to the ear cavity being larger in diameter.

Would these be worth getting if I own an LCD-2 pre Fazor? Different enough sound? Iā€™ve never heard the Sendy, etc, but I am wary of the M570.

Itā€™s going to be a fair bit more intimate and brighter focusing on treble detail, so it would be different

These or Sundaras? My headphones: LCD-2 rev1, Beyer T1.2, Neumann NDH20, HD6XX, Fidelio X2HR.

Personally the sundara, I just think itā€™s the better headphone overall imo. The m570 might have a bit more pure treble detail, but the sundara is way more refined and detailed in the rest of the range, the sundara is def my pick

Ok. I can get Sundaras for $315 or P-II for $399 [both new] and was torn. I am leaning towards the Sundaras; Iā€™m guessing they are pretty different from the LCD2 r1 as well? I am a complete neophyte when it comes to Planars. Also, I have a Zen DAC otw to integrate into my system. Mostly getting it for the DAC to feed to other amps. It will be interesting to see how different it is from my ADI-2 Pro. Thanks!

I would still personally choose the sundara, I prefer it to the sendy tbh

OK. Howā€™s the bass with the Sundaras? I know itā€™s less than the LCD2, but is it decent enough to listen to a wide variety of genres and not just classical or acoustic jazz?

Itā€™s pretty linear and even, works well with most genre tbh, just donā€™t expect as impactful as your lcd2

For sure. Nothing Iā€™ve heard has beaten the slam of the LCD2. Maybe Argons, but they were muddy and far less detailed. Iā€™m not gonna lie, I want BOTH the Sundara and P-II tbh. And Focal Elears or Elex. ā€¦
I think the $315 price for the Sundara atm is pushing it towards my choice. [BTW, the Sundaras are $315 through the hifiman site with a 10 percent off coupon. Pretty sure it is site-wide.]

If you want more slam than your lcd, you gotta try a he6 properly powered one time, also the th900 mk2 with purple heart Lawton cups are awesome

I wouldā€™ve gone for the Thieaudio Phantom. Sure theyā€™re a bit of a mess but how can you resist pads that look like a 70s Lotharioā€™s rug?

I actually like the Sundara and the Sendy/Sivga equally. Iā€™m just not trusting of Hifiman build quality/QC issues as Iā€™ve been burnt 3 times in the past. That being said, if you value mids more, go with the Sundara. If you value treble more, go with the Sendy/Sivga.

I personally tend to enjoy the treble overall on the sundara, and the sundara really didnā€™t have may issues (other hifiman cans had issues for sure tho). But I would say if you really like something a bit more aggressive the sendy driver types may be up you alley

I think I generally prefer a more laid-back sound. For instance, I had both the BGVP DM6 [more aggressive and detailed] and Moondrop Kanas Pro [warmer/smoother]. I ended up selling the DM6 as I greatly favored the KPEā€™s presentation. So this leads me to think the Sundara might be more what I am looking for. Thanks for the input, yā€™all!!! About to pull the trigger.

WAIT!!! DONT DO IT!!! I know my esteemed confederates prefer the Sundara. And this may have a truth of its own. But the Sivga is a far superior headphone. Far more detail and range. Its a much better headphone. its close soundstage and immaculate treble is superb. Its bass is wonderfull. I had both headphones, the sundaras and the Aiva i found the Aiva to be a far superior headphone. The Sundara has a airy sound which i did not like. the Aiva have a super clean and clear sound. And a unique fantastic close soundstage. I prefer and recommend the Sivga P2

In the M570 review the Aiva had a little better sound quality than the Blon B20 and the B20 better sound quality to the M570. Something i was able to confirm myself. Where does the Sivga P2 stand in that quality chain? Same quality as the Aiva? Or B20ā€™s or the M570?

Iā€™m still undecidedā€¦ Honestly think the P-II looks way more durable than the Sundara. And the cable it come with is far superior. Man, I am torn!

Both headphones receive a lot of praise. I love close soundstage, treble and detail of the Sivga P2. and these headphones. just wow. I think they are on par with the Focal Elex. I mean they both have different signatures. But headphones fall into a range price wise. If i see a 150 - 200$ headphone i know its gonna sound like a 150-200 dollar headphone.

But 600-700$ headphones sound like 600-700$ headphones. The Sivga is the same as a 600$ headphone that wowed Zeos (Avia). he thought it punched way above its weight. Its a headphone thats caused quite a stir in audio circles.

The Sundara was 500$ dollar headphone that dropped to 350$ Its quite a headphone. I was impressed when i had it. Thing is midrange is very important to some people. I know it is to me. And the Sundara has more of it than the Aiva. But the Aiva has good midrange. But its a bright headphone. so maybe people think its more of a specialized sound and the sundara is a better all around headphone. But the Sundara also has a lot of treble. But i hate that air lol. but some people like it. I think the Sivga p2 is a better headphone.
