ok so i bought this from SHENZHEN AUDIO off Amazon. But when i saw how long it would take to get to me i cancelled the order. Shenzhen emailed me and offered DHL shipping which would take 5-7 working days. i said yes and now its in california on its way to me. So not sure whats going on there
Itâs as good as the 789, available soon-ish, and cheaper. Why wouldnât people cancel their Drop orders?
I did the same, bought it off a seller on Lazada (local online shopping giant), and Iâll have it by the 23rd. Iâll end up paying about 250 USD or so for it, so I saved myself 200 dollars or so, at least.
Massdrop is finally getting their comeuppance. They make people wait months then push it back again. WTH? I guess theyâre allergic to making money. You make someone wait that long and something better is bound to come along.
They are just passing on lead times, for most of the stuff they donât maintain stock, minimizes their financial exposure, they are at least mostly honest about it.
I buy a fair amount from Massdrop, I donât generally buy stuff from Massdrop I want now.
They do have the slowest shipping I have ever encountered.
I alwways find it funny when I get something I ordered from China in 3 days and my Massdrop order takes 9 days to travel from the East Coast.
MassDrop is Painful for shipping. They are in New Jersey and I am in Nova Scotia and it takes close on two weeks to reach me. I understand that they have to cross a border, but wow.
I can ship a package by Parcel Post (ground) to most of Quebec/Ontario and it takes about 3 business days.

OCD people must do things the hard way.
But then just sell the case to others who are bothered lol. Turn a disorder into a developing business lol
or just pay the $110 straight case and passthrough premium but loose a couple inches in space

well, I actually wouldnât buy it as thereâs no pre-out for speakers.
You could get something like the fostex PC-1e and have a pre out
Iâm taking that you plug the headphone out into this thing?
No, you plug the line out into it and now you have a volume control. Other options might be like the jbl nano patch +, schiit sys, jds labs ol switcher, etc
Do ANY of the THX amps have pre-outs? Last I checked the 789 and 887 only have plain ol line out with no volume control. Same with the 788 dac/amp
what line out? they donât have a line out other than for your headphone.
They have pass throughs on the back
oh right⌠but yeah, none of them can act as pre-amps.
Yes, I believe that is the case. So you would have to get a line level control/preamp
how is a pass through different from a pre-out?
pass through would still work for my powered speakers, right?
Well, a pass through just passes through the signal, and well actually a line out on most gear typically does the same thing, so really not much of a difference in this case. Typically line out is used for when a dac will be putting out a constant voltage.
If you controlled the volume either through your PC or a preamp before the thx, you could just max out your thx and control the volume with the PC or preamp, essentially making a pre out
Pick you brain for a minute? I want to use three amps coming out of one DAC. The DAC outputs SE and Balanced. The LCX will be run via XLRâs. These are the other two amps:
Can I just run an SE cable through the Vali 2 and use either amp? I donât want to be constantly changing cables or using a y-cable (which I am right now for running comparisons).
Thanks!
