I donāt play with EQ, but can already half confirm its impossible they sound highly similar due to technical limitation of OG WU. but now i dont want to talk through my hat soā¦i might try to find a way playing with thisā¦i just never play with auto EQ and stuffsā¦just on UAPP and Hiby Musicā¦
yet, im one of those that prefer the guilty pleasure bassy lushness of the OG WU. Heyday is leaner colder. Superior in imaging resolution etcā¦
Add Heyday & original Wu to the graph, nix the HBB target, go to the EQ tab on the left, select the set youāll be using from the drop-down, then hit the AutoEQ button. Itās supposed to give you a profile that will make it match the other squig. In theory this will make the Heyday sound like the original (especially since planars like this supposedly EQ well, and the drivers between these sets are largely the same). I like the result, but being more of a neutral fan, prefer the Heyday anyway.
Hereās whatās in the exported txt file that can be imported into Peace and whatever:

Hmmm looks like you need an AMP for this in order to use its full potential, though I wonder what amp should I use when I am like planning to use it with my phone? It does have a headphone jack, but I think it would be safe to have a portable dac/amp powering up my own set of Heydays if it arrives.
I have an iPhone so I just use the apple dongle and they sound fine. Iāve played them back to back switching between the dongle and an ifi hip dac and the sound quality to me is similar at lower volumes. I think a simple dongle dac will be fine. Just my opinion.
Yeah thatās really good to hear if a simple dongle dac can get the job done for my Heydays. But I think I am going to save up for the Shanling UP4, since I lost my Fiio BTR3K and I am pretty much got spoiled by the wireless feeling of me not plugging my IEMs directly to my phone. I wouldnāt need a DAC/AMP if only my A52S has a very good DAc in the first place.
@K4sh1ma Just an fyiā¦iwii reviews recently found that the Apple dongle
works fine for Iphone, but with Android only puts out HALF its power. (Didnāt work well for my Android phone.) Looks like youāre on the right track with Shanlingā¦or other dac/amp with sufficient power.
For what itās worth, much of my Heyday listening is on the Shanling M0. Half volume is plenty loud and clear. Thatās on high gain setting ā i occasionally run my HD6XX with it.
I tried and canāt really tell the difference to my desktop setup (Topping D10 and Monoprice Liquid Spark).
Edit: Apple dongle also great unless i have to deal with the Android limitation (start and exit USB Player blah blah). Perfect on Windows for example.
Is the Zetian Wu ā either the OG or the Heyday edition ā worth getting if one already has the Hook-X? (The music I listen to is mostly acoustic & vocal).
I have OG Olina with Tanya Filter, S12, KZ PR1 PRO, EA500, and SA6 and kelp coming back to Heyday as my favorite IEM. It plays every type of music quite well! Smooth, detailed, fast transients. It shines on string instruments. What would be an upgrade to the Heyday? Will I need to step up to 1k budget to see an actual upgrade?
Iām finding the same thing. The more I listen to the Heyday the more I love it.
I think youād need to go deep into tribrid money to see a significant improvement.
If I didnāt already have a set of Monarch mkii Iād probably have stopped here.
Is the Monarch mkii better? Yes, in every respect but is it it 5 times better? Nope, not even close to that multiplier.
The Heyday hits the wall of the law of diminishing returns hard!
Bought one on audio46 a week ago, arrived 2 days ago.
First impressions are positive, Heyday sounds to me like a more refined Tripowin Olina (OG) with slightly better resolution.
I have very little to criticize. Bass could use some oomph, but Iām guessing Planar bass is like this?
Solid allrounder IEM under 300 bucks, this is a very valid B2 Dusk alternative if you canāt afford shelling 330 bucks for that which still needs tips and cable swap btw.
Dusk has wider soundstage then Heyday but Heyday has more treble air and faster bass response.
Not getting any of that Planar timbre Iāve seen people talk about, the Heyday sounds like a good quality DD to my ears.
Stock cable is ridiculously good for the money (Companies take note!) Case is too big for normal use but fells premium and is big enough to fit a dongle and tips.
Stock tips are not great, Iām using Final E tips.
PS: audio46 sent me the Heyday mouse pad, I thought this was a pre-order bonus long gone?
Bought a set of these this week to replace my Blon-03 and Moondrop Starfield. Using via a JDS Element desktop setup or a Qudelix 5k (via 2.5mm) when mobile. Immediately I knew these were for me - just hit the sweetspot - enough speed and weight to the sound with a great amount of detail thrown at me without the treble ever appearing to get over exuberant. Really, really impressed
These also became my go-to set for just not being offensive in any way. I was really hoping the KZ PR2 wasgoing to improve upon them, but I got the ārevisionā of those.
I used to have true HBB PR2 version, but it that version did not compete with Heyday. PR2 was more shouty in the upper mids. Heyday sounds more refined.
