Difference is the heyday doesnāt have the pillowy nature and is as such can sound like it has less bass as a result which it doesnāt.
So itās got less decay/faster transients? Yeah that can work towards giving a drier sound. So it seems the HeyDay should be paired with a warm/v-shaped source.
Thanks for the comparison graphs thatās wicked!
Bass wasnāt my issue , I agree you could if you have the ability and inclination to do so. In my pursuit to get to like this IEM I did that added at first a 6db low shelf and then lowered to a 4db.
My issue was Chris Reaās voice sounds like someone is squeezing his balls and he is singing one octave higher than he should be. Female vocals are worse IMO.
You could also use narrow bore tips , I donāt as I find it kills the stage.
AZLA short crystal or BGVP W01 were the best pairing but the Heyday has a fairly short nozel and went through my gammet of stock. Same as cables I settled on a Tripowin Zoe tri metal to add more note weight as well.
I was just saying to myself and to Kilo my dog that for $200 USD I could buy a
KZ PR1 PRO $81
Tin HiFi C3. $49
QKZ Q1 Modular Cable $16
Nice HCK sweet case $20
Same Modular Cable as Heyday $30
BGVP W01 Tips $2
Leather Cable ties $2
Total =$200
Value for money 10 x Heyday and better sound with a ton more enjoyment factor.
I am old and opinionated so take this with that information LOL

I have been laughing for a solid 2 minutes - literally out of no where Iāll see my self out/
Itās all a matter of taste. Someone might like a vocalist who sings like his balls are being squeezed . If the female vocals are worse, the women probably do something else to them, for example, they pull out their hair to scream while singing .
But kidding aside! Still, work has gone into making this IEM and I respect its neutral nature. Apparently itās not for everyone, but only for real audiophiles!
Glad you could salvage the situation. The UP is pretty sweet.
I donāt see anywhere how to get the custom shells for Xenns not sure how the previous owner did it?
The UP my first love and the one I canāt part with. Hope you enjoy it and canāt wait to hear thoughts.
I am on a strange new journey of self discovery. I have been in the audio industry for a very long time. I was pretty sure I nailed down my preference. I didnāt think I would like the Xenns UP, truthfully as lots of people comments on its dark signature.
The UP is truly wonderful.
I always steered away from dark sound signatures from my last one that was called dark the Penon Globe. I sold that one because of lack of high frequency, but remember why I liked it so much the smooth dreamy vocals but the top end was too tame for me.
I just got the TANGZU Zietan Wu Heyday and on first listen I hated it never had that happen before to me, as I always try find the best of whatever I am listening to.
I realized flat āneutral tuningā is just ā¦ boring for me and the Heyday tuning or combo of the planar. The UPās sound signature sounds to my ears correct tonality and what I realize is my version of neutral is in fact elevated bass and mid bass with extended treble extension but not bright or to forward.
The UP still has wicked treble for me and great extension the Sonion EST I am sure to thank here.
Still trying to figure this out. Off to Disneyland tonight but when I get back I will do a comparison between my +3db Sub Boosted Resin EJ07MāS
Well TANGZU and @hawaiibadboy you did it! Congratulations the HeyDay is the first planar that Iāve actually been able to enjoy. Iāve still got some minor issues with it but, no hard no goes as I did with the others. Took it on a six hour road trip today and jammed on it pretty much the entire time while my family slept. Still awaiting the P1 Max to compare it with as only one will be staying. Either way it goes though my faith has been restored in IEM planars.
Hey glad things worked out for you and all the best but itās probably best to keep discussions in this thread related to the Heyday since thatās what those of us interested in it are here for.
Oh and also thank you for confirming it is very neutral sounding. Thatās always my biggest concern about a new IEM. Especially a new planar IEM.
I am very stoked that you are happy. My library was used and the goal was a lesser V to hear the supposed āsuperiorā driver . I think it worked.
Got several āVā planars and only a couple neutralish ones like P1 max and now WU Heyday
Thanks for the trust
Thatās fantastic news, brother! Regardless if the Max is your jam, looks like the Heyday can scratch that itch for the time being.
Happy listening!
The following kind of goes against my last post. To elaborate on it Iām enjoying it as the only planar Iāve liked to date and keeping an open mind as I enjoy the some of the driver characteristics a planar offers. Coming from my preference thats a huge win for the HeyDay. For that it deserves a shout out and my respect. It is not my idea signature or idea of neutral.
Itās issues for me are its bass seems a bit dry as @Rcayn mentioned, would like a little more punch and the vocals and instruments are to forward. I call those minor because Iām still at least able to listen to it fatigue free and for extended sessions. Which no other planar has been able to do and something I can not look past. Bass Iām slightly more forgiving if it doesnāt hit my target.
Like you found with the UP I enjoy a darker presentation or super warm signatures. If youāre ever looking to go further take a look at the SA Meteor. Itās got glorious midbass and definitely isnāt bright. May be a tad more forward than the UP but, not in an overly done matter. Enjoy your trip to Disney!
MMags thanks this forum rocks! Luv u peeps!
This right here is why squigs and reviews arenāt everything. Sometimes you just gotta listen with your ears to find something that fits right with you!
You might actually like the OG Wu.
Much warmer and more bass impact.
Mine arrived today, sounding pretty nice through my QKZ VK4 wire, lol. The Heyday wire was in the box, but with no end pieces. Have emailed Linsoul support
