TH-X00/TR-X00/E-MU Teak/Denon biodynamic general discussion

Thanks for sharing. Really appreciate it!

My hinge exploded about a month ago and I really miss my PH’s… I tried getting different headphones to replace them but I miss them. Anyhow… I found a mod online that if you 3D print new battles you can hook them up to the hifiman enhanced comfort headband. Below is the part. I’m not sure if it has been linked here or not. I just got it on order. If I can get my cups connected to that I’m going to get the headband

That’s exactly what I’m gonna be doing soon on my d2000s

My friend who’s a woodworker started making headphone stands recently and I loaned him a few of my headphones for his product photos. I’ve never seen my own headphones look this photogenic before, super satisfied with the look, feel, and sound of my E-MU Sapele, they’re probably my 2nd favorite headphone after my TH900MK2s…

Do you add the dekoni att.ring on this? or do they sound great without it?

Not Dekoni rings, but I do use attenuation rings.

The cowhide pads do sound good without the rings though. There is just less bass.

I loved the sound of my ebony with Dekoni elite hybrid with dekoni att.rings BUT the earholes are too small for my ears and it is very uncomfortable on long sessions
This kinda solve by using the ZMF Hybrid Suede(since the earholes size are perfect for my ears)
with att.rings (the bass is too boomy)
without att.rings(less bass and more treble)

i just switch them up sometimes lol

Maybe you should try the Ori cowhide pads. They have more warmth/low-end than the lambskin or hybrid so they might hit a sweet spot for you without attenuation rings.

Edit: I also find the material very comfortable for long periods of time.

What pads would give me a slightly more neutral sound signature on my Emu Teaks?

Compared to stock pads, the lambskin or hybrid Ori pads without attenuation rings might do the trick. If you are already using pads like that, Lawton pads might work, either with it without attenuation rings.

So the TR-X00 mahogany is back but at $100 more

Is it just me or at that price other things just seem like a better purchase?

Hello,
Good news for the one.
Drop sell the Fostex Mahagony again, here the Link, have fun.
A good chance for the people who want it.Good luck

Well that didn’t last long.

Also I forgot what a shit show the drop discussion sections are. It seems like the only people who use them are people who hate drop and everything it does, but still use the service.

Maybe it’s not too late, my x00 exploded as well about a month ago. I actually contacted e-mu and asked them if they are willing to sell me the hardware and they agreed. I got whole new hardware aside from the wood cups for 200$.
Btw. i literally just created an account and just saw your comment and had to reply.
Anyways. I’m also looking to upgrade my x00 cups, any recommended ones? i do like the sound of the mahogany i have. only thing i did was getting a sheepskin dekoni pads with attenuation pads. oh, and a detachable cable mod

THANK YOU! I tried doing a repair of my own but it did not go so well lol. I’ll have to contact EMU this week.

Hello,
I have buy the Rosewood cups from Emu and find it very well.
Better as the Mahagony Cups.

A lot of people like the Lawton cups. I haven’t tried them but have heard good things about them.
