The sheepskin dekoni pads are good but the accessory house pads are more comfortable and (if they sound at all like the Ori pads) sound great too with attenution rings. I would recommend the accessory house pads.
Accessory house pads, non perf with rings is the way to go . I enjoy them on my ebony.
Unless youâre going full Lawton, then weâre talking a different game.
But I agree, if you wanna keep it simple for now, go ori or accessory house pads (basically the same thing) and attenuation rings.
Ok interesting, the AHG pads would cost half of what the Dekonis would after shipping and VAT.
Now the Teaks ship with protein leather pads stock, would there be a noticeable difference in sound switching to the sheepskin pads?
Too bad AHG donât sell the attenuation rings, is it only Dekoni that makes those?
From my understanding, protein leather produces sharper highs.
You can try cutting up some foam and putting it in there to take the treble and bring the bass up. Denser the foam or felt, the more bass and messy treble. Thatâs what I did. I got the non perf accessory house pads without rings and sounds good after I tuned them with some dense foam.
Yeah, the rings are like $15 and worth it if you want to change pads without Lawton mod. The accessory house pads are like half the price of Oris and dekoni pads. I personally wouldnât get the dekoni pads.
I returned the perforated and ordered the non-perforated. Lawton kit is in the drawer waitingâŚ
The perforated pads do bad things to the sound signature. Definitely go with non perf!
Lambskin is the best option as protein leather can make the highs a bit more sharp. These pads are the most comfortable and will add some soundstage, but require attenuation rings. (Sadly unavailable at the moment)
These pads are less comfortable (more comfortable than stock but less than the previous pads) but still sound great and come with attenution rings built-in. Also they are available right now.

Nice. I want a Lawton mod but donât want to ruin my teaks. I may order a used x00 or 610 one day so I can mod them or my teaks. Cups are so purrrrrty
Thatâs what I did. Iâve kept my Ebony stock and Lawton modded two mahoganies.

Hello,
The E-mu company answer me.
Now the pricelist:
Palo Santo, Ebony US$140
Rosewood, Purpleheart, Mahogany, Zebra, Sapele 120 US$
Bamboo US$100
So i mean the Rosewood where perfect for a Denon Ah d2000.
I am in posession from the Fostex Tr x00 Mahagony Headphone.
What i have read about the driver from Fostex are the same in E-mu and Denon and the Tr x 00.
Do you think Rosewood from E-Mu are a better as the Mahagony from the Fostex?
Or better the Ebonys?
The Sound from the Fostex Mahagony with the Accesorry house Pads is very good now.For more is nessecary to change the Cups.
My personally i think the Mahagony can goes give a little more Bass.
What i have read about the E-mu cups same says Rosewood give it with a little bit more love as the Ebony ,and other say it invert.
Thatâs why i am a little bit confuse what buy for cups from E-mu.
Other say Teak are the best.
But canât buy it so only with the E-mu phone.
I have a Bassmonster phone with the Ah D7200 phone for me is enough.
The Fostex Mahagony not so powerfull in Bass but enough.
And with the retrofubish the Denon Ah D2000 i will try a Good bass foudament with a clearance from the Mids and highs.
I donât no it is possible to produce it with the Rosewood cups from E-mu.
So when it give some Guys who have try the Cups from Emu.
Say me what have fit for cups and your impression, please.
Actually i have buy the Pads from Accesorry House,Viablue Headphone cabel 2 Meters,6,3 connector.
In produce from my Wife a new Headband for the little Denon.
This might help
If you want more bass than the Mahogany, the E-mu Teak from what I hear is just more refined, it has ever so slightly less bass. If you want more bass, you should look for something else like the Fostex TH900 Mk2 Purplehearts. But those are probably out of budget for you. I think you should look at a different headphone than the E-mu Teak if you want more bass than the Tr-x00 Mahogany.
Well, Ebony have more bass than the mahoganies if Iâm not mistaken.
