TH-X00/TR-X00/E-MU Teak/Denon biodynamic general discussion

I wonder if the reflections off of the hard plastic affect the sound. Like additional resonance.

Thatā€™s the thing, itā€™s soft and flexible, so I donā€™t think thatā€™s an issue with using the ovaltine lids.

okay, does not sound wrong. So far you have hardly been wrong about this .Although you personally have slight concerns that something is going to be done that would be significant again, I find the Zmf a little bit expensive, especially when I come to Germany donā€™t let it stay at 60 ā‚¬.
When I learned one thing that the price is not always good, when I bought the Dekoni Elite Hybrid I was so disappointed with it when you presented your pads and came with Accsesorry House pads and tested them yourself for the point where I thought, and no other.
The idea of ā€‹ā€‹making rings with the Ovomaltine lids is really not stupid, Iā€™ll give it a try.
Although Iā€™m currently really satisfied with the setup, the Dekoni rings with the Accesorry House pads and the E-mu rosewood cup on the D2000, it even leaves the Denon Ah D7200 stupid when it comes to natural, transparent and open, so I would now reluctant to change anything, even the Tr x00 mahogany that only has the Lawton Mod on it and the Accesorry house pads with the rings, it makes it stand out even more.
he really lacks everything in comparison.
Maybe it would make more sense to test the Ovomaltine rings.

Working on some testing of my own. And if youā€™re concerned about pricing on pads, just buy the Accessory House pads. They are the same as ZMF!

A quick warning, the accessory house pads are unavailable on Amazon last I checked, so you will need to get from accessory house directly.

I made a pair of new rings based on your measurements, and it definitely came out better than the one I tried to make on my own. Iā€™m afraid to upload a pic for comparison, thatā€™s how bad the one I originally tested was, lol. But putting that aside, it didnā€™t make that much of a difference sound-wise, and pretty much all my problems persist. Iā€™ve decided to order those properly manufactured rings from Dekoni, just to reach some sort of conclusion because what Iā€™m actually hearing using these rings is a far cry from what many of you have previously described. I would be shocked if it turned out it sounds the same with the Dekoni rings.
I did another round of testing, and since I wasnā€™t satisfied with the results I changed just one side back to stock, and made a direct comparison using a tone generator. Obviously the volume had to be adjusted every time I switched sides, and itā€™s not an immensely reliable test, but the root of my problems quickly became clear, the bass severely lacks clarity with my solution, and itā€™s not even a matter of punchiness like I first described it, it actually reminds me of noise more than a tone.

The rings and my E-MU ebony cup should arrive early next week, and Iā€™m really looking forward to some more testing. I feel like Iā€™m this close to achieving what Iā€™m looking for, so I have high hopes for it. As for the Lawton tune-up, I have no idea, itā€™s been 3 weeks since I ordered it to the EU and tracking hasnā€™t been updated since then. I donā€™t know how long itā€™s supposed to take, but I expected them to arrive somewhat sooner.

lol! They are probably unavailable because of me! Iā€™ve already got an order in at the Accessory House Global website for another pair of their replacement TR-X00 pads. They really are fantastic. I go back and forth preferring them to the ZMF pads.

Which shipping company did Mark end up using to ship it out to you? Any inbound and outbound traffic is taking almost double the amount of time it would get to your destination if its international. I recently ordered a set of custom cables from the UK and what should have taken about a week and a half took almost four and a half weeks to arrive.

Hi,
when I bought Markā€™s Angelpads and insulation kit it took about 5-6 weeks, that was all before the Corona shit. 2018 I think.
The other day I wrote to him again for another insulation kit for my Denon d2000 and I immediately paid and he said that due to the location, he only went to the post once a week instead of daily, which is okay.
He then gave me the tracking number days later and it took a week for it to arrive in Germany.
That came with the plane, probably the first time with the ship.
And in England I ordered the pads and Dekoni rings and they were here in a week, my e-mu cups were there too, sent out on Friday and it was there on Thursday, and here in Germany I order what takes a lot longer in part. Th cups and the dekoni rings were there faster than the USB stick I had ordered in Germany .
Have a little bit more patience. Also the postal companies are overloaded and the additional regulations you have to comply with. I would prefer you would hire more staff for that but it donā€™t want that either. I think it sucks because people need a job to be family Unfortunately, the companies donā€™t care, as long as you can make a great speech at the Christmas party how great the year has been.

Yeah, itā€™s probably because of COVID, then. He shipped it with USPS. Strange thing, Iā€™ve ordered quite a few stuff recently and only one was late so far.

Anyone have any experience with colored resin? I was browsing around and saw some pictures of the sapphire and emerald th900s and thought to myself how cool would it be if I could produce something similar with just using pigmented resin kinda like how people pour colored resin on their counter tops. Or maybe get some inspiration and kind of make it look like a rosson rad 0. I have an extra pair of PH cups kind of laying around that I might sacrifice if its something thatā€™s doable.

When I ordered my Chambers (cups) and Tune-Up kit he shipped the cups but forgot the Tune-Up kit. I received the Tune-Up kit a week later. This was just as Covid shutdowns weā€™re beginning.

Mark is pretty good about shipping things out as soon as he can.

Alex Rosson uses resin for his Rad-0.

Theyā€™re a very popular headphone. Alex was a co-founder of Audeze.

If only they sounded as good as they looked lol

How would you describe the sound?

Like someone tried to recreate an audeze but didnā€™t quite get it imo. The technicalities are there, but the signature and refinement are not which really bothers me for that price. Also cable and comfort are meh from my experience. Also kinda imo has some compression and lacks some impact as well. Itā€™s not bad, but for that price imo I think there should be more that it doesnā€™t have
