The DEALS thread

Damn. I’d really consider that Studio 6 and Phono Stage, but not with the current state of things

Did anyone see all of a sudden a bunch of Audeze models are on drop now? Not sure about the price cuts though

Yeah, I created a thread thinking it was a great deal without realizing that there was a base $750 for every model. Kind of a lame sale.

Probably won’t be there long lol. Audeze wasn’t in the loop on that one.

It probably negates the possibility of Audeze collaborating with Drop any time soon. I’d have liked to have seen what they could have come up with in the sub $1k price range

I’m pretty sure the LCD2C was originally lined up to be a Audeze/Drop collaboration but it fell through. And now this probably put the nail in the coffin.

Those prices are quite a bit higher than Shenzhen Audio. At least for the products I was looking at.

Kinera Nanna from hifigo is the lowest at $759

From Drop’s official reply in the discussions:

“Draw your own conclusions about who’s being shady, but I’ll add for context, Audeze is the only company in the audiophile space who entered into a collaboration with DROP, took the designs we developed, claimed they couldn’t commit to a production schedule, and launched the product as their own at a higher MSRP a couple weeks later.”

Well… I guess there’s no hard feelings on anyone’s part here. Everything’s fine

Two wrongs totally make a right though, don’t they?

Yeah, I think this makes both companies look bad. Drop accusing them of price fixing in their response is petty, and Audeze could have also worded their public response differently.

If the prices were the best around, I’d consider it, but you can find open box deals from retailers at these prices and it will be warrantied as though brand new. The LCD-4 is the best deal listed in my opinion, but I see open boxes for $3k pretty often.

I’ll be honest, if I was considering buying, after seeing those responses from both companies, no matter the deal I would be out, and now I’m kinda considering not buying from drop again, period.

I don’t blame them so much. They are essentially just selling someone else’s inventory, but it does make them look less legitimate when you see them doing it without Audeze’s blessing. I’m personally a pretty big fan of what Drop has done over the past few years in bringing audiophile gear to the masses. I’ve bought more from them than I care to admit, and I probably own most of their current collaborations that I had my eye on at one point. I guess it all depends on what they have coming in the future. I’m pretty set on mid range gear, and this whole deal may have turned off some of the higher-end companies I’d like to see them work with in the future. Also, the longer the economy is uncertain like it is now, I think you will see a lot of desperate measures taken to stay afloat. It’s no coincidence so many sellers and manufacturers are running sales right now.

Got a point there, but still just doesn’t sit right with me

Probably not for everyone, but Bloom Audio has an open box Susvara for 25% off:
