The DEALS thread

Legit, I bought my DT770’s from them via www.reverb.com.

Wow, great deal after the coupon, couldn’t get a much better price used for these.

Edit: both links are in there now, thanks Antpage :+1:

I purchased my Beyers from them also. I found them in eBay but with the coupon code it ended up being cheaper to buy through their site. They shipped fast. The headphone box was a tiny bit crunched because it shipped in more of a bag / padded envelope but it didn’t bother me. The headphones were fine.

I believe I’ve purchased stuff from Pro Star Audio on eBay.

should point out the DT 880’s are $170 instead of $250 there too:

edit - granted, those are the 250 ohm model and the real winners are the 600 ohm.

Did you get your 1990s? And were they 1990s?

Looks like that deal is still listed at Newegg. Thinking of taking advantage if they’re as expected / not refurbs.

@Alfredo3001

Sorry. I just got the box an hour ago. Was thinking of recording an unboxing video to be dramatic, but you guys aren’t interested in that. You’re just interested in whether I got bamboozled or not!

The Evidence:

Judgement: Legit

They are the real deal. Though full disclaimer, I’m still riding that new gear high. The sound is amazing. The imaging is more accurate and the sound-stage is much wider compared to the Sennheiser 58x that I have been A/Bing with. I can’t wait to try a few games with them. The level of detail is not even comparable. And I definitely notice the differences in mastering across my music. I am very happy with this purchase. Only gripe is that it took me like 20 minutes to get the pads switched from the balanced to analytical, but that’s on me. I much prefer the analytical pads, but the nice bass boost with the balanced may fit others better. Also I now understand what people mean by speed. The drivers just feel quick and responsive. Everything just sounds so crisp. Shout out to @M0N for steering me towards these.

My Fleet Review, a certain Sennheiser just got replaced as the flagship.

  • Here’s the link to the deal again. Legit, Brand New (at least according to the newegg message I got from electronicsexpo) Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pros for $409.99 -

I added the link on newegg to them for those interested. $409.99 is about the cheapest you’ll find them.

nice dude personally I love the beyers. They showed me what good imaging has to offer where previously that would have rated very low on my priority list and I ended up much preferring them over my sennheisers generally. I also prefer the analytical pads, felt the balance pads were kinda flat and boring but the analytical has such a big bump in detail really enjoyable to hear imo. Congrats 410 for new 1990s is a sick deal

Yeah. I am super happy with them. I also hope that I helped anyone else who were waiting on a deal on them. I see them going for like 420-450ish used on reddit so the fact that you can get them new for $410 is insane. The last time they were around that was apparently a sale in 2017 by amazon where they were $407ish according to camelcamelcamel.

fuck man, I’m so tempted. But I just got my Sundaras ://////

Heh. I’d enjoy your Sundaras for a while. Honestly, that’s my next big purchase. Sundaras that I’m hoping I can find for around $300 or so. But I’ll probably wait at least a year. Just so I fully enjoy the DT 1990s before I move on and try other things.

Yes, you totally helped me (to spend more money on headphones that I probably don’t need, lol). I’d seen the deal at Newegg, but assumed they were more than likely refurbs, open-box, or some kind of pricing mistake that would be canceled if I placed an order.

If not for your post & follow-up, I probably would have passed; it’s getting more and more difficult to justify additional headphones these days. Confirmation that these are the steal they appeared to be pushed me over the edge.

FWIW, there’s a new PC version of Alien: Isolation on XBox/PC Game Pass. That’s one of the best games I’ve ever played for sound. I’ve played it twice previously on 360 and X1, both times on surround sound. This time around I’d like to try out some headphones. 1990s are a strong contender.

If there is anything I learned on hifi guides, it is that we always blame M0N for purchases. I was just gonna buy the T60RP Argons mod for $485 when he mentioned that he thought there were other headphones that would be better and steered me towards the 1990 Pro. Then I went digging and ended up finding the Newegg deal and taking the plunge. So if M0N, hadn’t told me about the 1990s then I would’ve never purchased. :upside_down_face:

Good choice!
They are my daily driver and by far the best Beyer HP’s I have tried.

cant find anything better for gaming at the price you got them for

First time poster here- I was swayed by the Newegg deal (came out to 432 with tax) on the DT 1990’s as i could not find a new pair of Cascades in stock anywhere. Definitely glad i stumbled across this thread, cheers!
