The DEALS thread

Very true, you can squeeze more out of the Arya with a more appropriately matched amp for sure, should really improve them

Detail is detail. It gives 0 F’s what technology is used.

Really depends, you can get way more detail out of a better amp depending on the headphones and setup, the entire signal chain will determine the detail level of the system and how it all plays together

Detail is dependent of the technology used?

Correct, it’s not a specific technology, but if you have a higher end headphone and pair it with a not appropriately tiered amp and dac, you may find that one of those components might become the bottleneck in the system for the amount of detail. Getting a better amp and dac will most likely yield more detail to be had as you are getting more out of the headphones. Of course this depends on the headphones, this is what most people consider scaling, and some headphones are more sensitive to amps and dacs than others, but more times than not, getting higher end electronics and source material will bring more out of a headphone (to varying amounts depending on the headphone). If this weren’t the case, there would be no need for higher end electronics, which I admit would be nice if we could just get the most out of the headphones without having to deal with this stuff lol

So it’s not technology dependent. Your describing other factors that have no bearing on the materials used in the transducer.

My apologies I completely misread the post lol, yes the material in the transducer and the technology inside of the headphones is not dependent for the most part, you can achieve great detail with dynamic, planar, estat, etc. I thought you were talking about amps and the rest of the gear as a reply when I mentioned that above, my bad

No worries, I was thrown off by the latter comment. :+1:t4:

Yeah being planar, dynamic, estat, etc doesn’t make something inherently more detailed than other things, back to deals now I guess lol
