They sell for about 120$ regular. so i wouldnt expect too much. Most of the Audio Technicas are like the Beyerdynamic. Bright and not much bass or body. not sure if these are the same.
Beyer’s and audio Technica are pretty different, they both are generally brighter signatures but they do sound pretty different
Also if you still have the 880 have you tried it on the darkvoice?

I did try the DT880 with my darkvoice and i liked them a lot more. seemed to help with the bass and body. very nice. Makes me wonder if i should get the DT1990. I bet it sounds awesome.

I play mostly horror games. Alien Isolation is a blast. That was a commonly requested game when I used to stream on Twitch.
I caved and pulled the trigger on it and Aliens vs Predator($3 right now).
I still remember my first time playing Hellblade… I believe I was using the dac in the DAC-X6 line out to my Little Bear B4 powering my DT 990s, lights off after nightfall… Creeped me out.
That’s awesome. Nothing I have played creeped me out more than Silent Hill 2 and Resident Evil 3 back in the day. Although outlast had it’s moments.

PT was probably the worse very short atmospheric and is basically beetter than anyhorror game Ive ever played. really shows how good a self contained horror game can be

I finally splurged on the Focal stand a while ago at Rakuten. Found it for the bargain basement price of $220, plus (I think) 20% back in credit for future Rakuten purchases. Even then it was pure fanboy tax that I justified only because I have collected most of the Focal lineup.
My frugal side is proud of everyone who buys banana hangers for their headphones.

That feature just seems like unnecessary trolling. The game is tense enough without my IRL sounds breaking stealth for me.
This is also available with Microsoft’s PC Game Pass right now. It’s going to be one of the next games I play. I’m just deciding whether I want to jump into Outer Worlds again. In any case, I’ve played Alien: Isolation twice previously, on 360 and XBox One. It’s one of my all-time favorites, especially for audio. My other two playthroughs were on surround sound, which was intense. This time it will be headphones, and I’m trying to decide from T1, 1990, or Focals (Elex maybe? Gotta stick with the black theme for Aliens, lol)
