The DEALS thread

They do movie trailers, camping videos, space launches, Ted talks, etc but I have not seen whole movies like Netflix does. I’m kinda messing up the thread, but wanted to help…and I think 11.99 for what they have is a deal.

Yeah i rent a lot of stuff from youtube. Including movies. The thing is for me the new tracks coming out in higher than CD quality. Those tracks sound really good. And Amazon music seems to have the most. And if your a prime member you get a better subscription

Thanks for the additional info. I suspect the new Amazon HD music may win that war…will be interesting to see if Spotify goes hi res too.

I know lots of you purchased the Focal Elegia recently, Dekoni has some defect earpads for half price if you want fenstrated leather.

https://dekoniaudio.com/product/manufacturing-defect-dekoni-audio-elite-fenestrated-sheepskin-earpad-set-for-focal-elear-clear-utopia/

This Focal Fenestrated Sheepskin has a defect where the stitching is at the top of the pad instead of the bottom. The glue on the clip ring seal may also need to be reapplied. Box not included.

If Spotify goes hi-res I will be so happy… been using them for like 8 years and I don’t particularly want to switch platforms

I switched from Amazon music to Spotify right before they brought out HD. Curious to see how Spotify does with higher rez.

I did find a few different websites that will let you port over your playlists really easy if I want to change back to Amazon or try Tidal.

I just doesnt seem to me like their interested to go hires. do most people care about CD quality?

With their recent acquisition of JRE and going stronger as a video platform (at least for podcasts and music videos) it’s only a matter of time I think. Even if it’s “not requested” they want to seem like the all in one solution and it’s a current differentiater in the market.

I think this is a really good explanation of it. I have been debating going to Tidal for hi-res music, but they don’t have enough quantity of albums that are offered in hi-res for me to make the switch yet.

It would be a smart business decision to eventually get hi-res music on the platform so people like myself don’t jump ship… even if I think I am in the minority of people that actually care about hi-res music :man_shrugging:

I wouldn’t bet on it. I’ve read a lot of articles about it and it seems the Spotify executives feel the overwhelming percentage of their users do not care about having hi-fi quality music and they’re betting so.

Truth be told, they’re probably right. I bet if I were to ask every person who works in my office to explain the difference between compressed and lossless audio in ANY way that remotely makes sense, may be 1-2 people could do it.

Yeah that’s fair tbh. I usually use Foobar at home with FLAC files so I’m not sure if I would actually need streaming hi-res now that I think about it…

Can we keep discussions on other threads please? This thread is already mega long without discussing random stuff. Please just post deals, if you want to discuss something about a product, there is most likely already another thread. Thank you all for your understanding, and be excellent to each other :slightly_smiling_face:

Do not get fenestrated earpads for the Elegia. This headphone relies on the seal 100 percent.

Fine for the open Focals if you want to experiment with sound signature changes.

There’s a guy over on Headfi selling a Violectric V280 for $925. I’d make him an offer myself if I didn’t just get a RNHP

So manufacturing flipped the stitching the wrong way. We use a stitching to join the two materials, typically this would be on the bottom near the cable. The stitching is at the top with these pads, purely an aesthetic defect.
