The worst headphone you've ever heard!

Same. I know Monoprice does things to make headphones more affordable, but that should never be at the expense of proper tuning or decent build quality.

Planars are interesting since you start with a wider soundstage by default since the drivers are so big and the headphones as well, with better distorsion (especially in the bass) and usually much better extending bass.

Having a great planar around 300-500 bucks would be amazing.

The biggest issue that I see with planars is the uneven mids many of them have alot of mini peaks in the mids or a peak around 1k and a dip at 2k, whereas dyanamic headphones have a much easier time being flat in the mids.

Having a planar doesn’t always start you off with wider soundstage, but it does start you off with a more layered presentation and impact/slam

Some good planars in the 300-500 range would be the sundara, lcd 1, verum 1, he560v1, argons, sendys, and now the aeon open x, just to name a few

20 charsssssssssssss

So, for me the t20 is 100% subjectively the worst headphone I’ve heard along with the dynamic t90 from fostex. The t90 was bright and uninspiring to me, I actually parted it out to use the headband for my t20s. My t20s took me more time and energy/money modding and still never sounded as good as other headphones. They are my disappointment so maybe a cross post is warranted lol. Boom bass with rattles to recessed mids or piercing treble smh. Also the purpleheart was a disappointment too. I’ve,not had good luck with fostex so I’m basically writing them off at this point. Why cant I love japanese headphones :frowning:

Have you ever tried any of the fostex biodynas like the x00 or th900? Those are pretty sweet, and can be awesome with or without mods

Edit: nvm I’m dumb I didn’t see the end of your post lol

Yes the ph was a trx00, treble murder for me, and,if I tried to fix it they just got dark and unapealing. I think 4-6k may be a trouble area for me because,I never had issues with the dt1990 and it’s peak

Interesting, well that’s good that you know that tho to avoid future purchases that you might not enjoy

Oh hi person that owns the 1990’s please talk to me using the sweet language of audiophile description terms to describe said headphone

I wanna get as many opinions as possible on the 1990, the Elex and possibly the Edition XX

Edit: actually maybe I should focus on the headphones I wanna buy first  there’s enough time till I will be able to afford expensive headphones

Can I say a pair from the dollar store?

That’s cheating tho, I feel like it needs to be a pair of proper headphones whatever that means

Ask some people I know, and they’ll tell you they are.

Alright spit it out

I feel like I haven’t quite found the right pads for my HE-350, and the best I’ve found is the Focus-a pads that came with my 4XX, though even those are being replaced due to them falling apart.

If we’re talking about the worst that people will recognize the name of, then HE-4xx with brainwaves angled pleather pads. Those pads completely ruins the headphones.

The worst I have ever heard had to be these free earphones I got when I walked into a hotel gym lol.
Other than that, I tried some TurtleBeach headset that a kid was like “THese HaVE 7.1 surRoUnd tHEY SLaY!”
All I heard was mud.
And I couldn’t even hear the singing. Pretty flippin bad.

Dt1990 is like a lcd2c but lighter, brighter, and airyier :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: joking, it’s pretty good. I can answer honestly sometime if you need as ive gpt a year with them at this point

Anything Ultrasone. They suck. All of them.

while true, I think I can hear that image.

in terms of price to perfomance some of the pworse I have heard are beats studio 1,2 and 3 as well as the beats pro
