Ok so I just had a trip with Mele.
I challenge you guys to listen the following:
LCD Soundsystem - Beat connection
From the start. 8mins trip. If by the 6min drop you’re not jamming with Mele, you have no soul. Forget details, stage, just enjoy the music.
Also around 7:02 there are hard kicks in your chest. GL getting that with flat tunings or bloated bass 🤷

Again A/Bing Tin T4 (with wide bore tips) with Mele (Spinfit CP145), Mele still has more slap and bass impact with rounder/wider/fuller sound stage. (Day 3 impression)
Edit 2:
Mele doesn’t pair well with tube hybrids (xDuoo MT-602); sound signature doesn’t change much. T4 on the other hand gets a fuller and richer treatment on the tubes than on FiiO K3.

I ordered it just do a comparition vs Mele, tbh.
If they are close as some people claim, Mele will be the winner to me since with Blon-03 cable and fit suck, but YMMV.
If 03 is superior, which no one claimed yet, then I’ll be the first to say it.
Blon will still be around 5-15 bucks cheaper, depending how much you spend on the cable. There’s no price for fit and confort tho, but everyone’s ears are different.
If you are on super ultra budget(sub 25), blon with stock cable or tanya are the way. Or MH755.

Yeah, sorry, was implicit but nice catch. To me, stock blon is worse, but everyone has preferences.
That one looks like a moondrop filter. Depending on the model, I believe they might have some damping in them.

I think he means that it will change the sound, probably. They have some type of layer.
A dampener is used to dampen (reduce/lower) the treble quantity. The stock mesh in the 03 is working as a dampener, which is why the mesh mod changes the sound, because you change it to a mesh without dampening (or at least not as much as the 03 mesh).
