While you’re ordering off Amazon Japan, get the Final E Clear tips. Trust me. These are the best tips I have tried in terms of timber, comfort, and IEM compatibility. They are different from the black version that’s sold everywhere in North America as they don’t bring down the treble too much but do still drastically reduce sibilance on IEMs where that is a problem (it is not a problem with the Mele)
I’ve also heard (and it looks like it from the pictures) that the Blon is not the most comfortable… if two IEMs are close in sound and technicalities, I’m taking the more comfortable one 100% of the time. What’s the point of an IEM that hurts/annoys your ears??
Edit: That is to say the Mele is among the most comfortable IEMs I’ve ever tried and have had others try.
Yeah bro, that’s my point. I don’t see any advantages of getting blon over Mele, but hey, people do what they want.
For me, confort has a price.
Thanks a lot. Coming from you, that means a lot .
I must admit my phone’s software did most of the work. I should try with my camera, too but I doubt I will be able to do good things without a macro lens.
Hey guys!
This is my first post in this community and consider me a newbie in this hobby.
So, currently I own a Blon BL-03 (without mesh mod) for more than a year now and I would like to know whether Mele will be a good upgrade for me or not. (I’m a student therefore I’m looking for the best value IEMs, that’s why I chose the Blons last year)
I enjoy the sound quality of the Blons but have to adjust the fitting every now and then.
I’ll drive the IEM through my LG G8X, no external DAC involved.
Thanks in advance!
Let’s talk about the cable: mine seems to be tangle prone. It’s too bad really, because I like the looks of it and the coherency it has with the set. The jack though is a little thin for my taste: it is a bit difficult to grab
I also got the jelly balanced cable from linsoul. Light copper and greyish silver is a good combination; it even looks golden under certain conditions, and that matches with the faceplate. The cable is thicker and seems to be less tangle-prone.
Got mine today
the best 50 i have spent till date
add 20 for 2.5 balanced jelly…
I will say just that it has been in my ear for 5 hrs straight and i can say for sure no fatigue , my kbear ks1 lasted for 1 - 2 hr max after which my ears hurt…
I have a btr5 so my edc and sleep - in iems will be mele from now on.
Not heavy at all even though it is metal made, probably will last a damm long time.
no eq needed. rolling tips is suggested, cable it comes with is more than fine, has bggar logo on it . Also instruments sounds singing on these - bass guitar, piano …
A big thanks to @hawaiibadboy for a excellent addition to the community.
Hello and welcome to HFGF
If you want to keep the sound signature and just improve on confort and fit, this are the best fit. To me they sound better than blon, with the same signature and timbre quality.
Tuning and fit are the strong points on Mele, that’s why it’s my default rec under 50. Confort is over 9000.
If you want a big upgrade from it keeping the same sound signature, you’ll have to spend a lot more.
Stock is fine for people on a budget. Does nothing wrong.
Some people will see it as perfect since it’s thin and light, good for going outside. Some people prefer more bulkier cables.
I don’t use stock but I also don’t love the looks on Jelly. It’s a metter of tastes
I have them lol.
To me they are pretty minor, to the point where I wonder if its placebo from the color.
Elecom EHP-CAP20 serves as my more balanced type E.
So, are Mele the best significant upgrade for Blons under 100$ price tag?
And can I properly drive them with my LG G8X smartphone?
In terms of confort yes. In terms of soundsignature, I can’t help you much. I dont have the same experience on the budget range as some here have. If you want the exactly same signature sound I’d recoment Blon-03 > Mele > Hana 2021 > Oxygen. If you want something else, you might find something else below 100.
Yeah, no problem.
IMO, the 03 and the oxygen are drastically different. A true upgrade to the 03 is the Sony XBA-N3.
Oh, there you go @Prakhar , @Rikudou_Goku is the master here. Listen to him and not me. My experience on theses brackets is far less than his.
At least that is what I think with the mesh modded 03 (which is an upgrade to the stock 03, although not a true upgrade).
Ibasso IT00 and the Final Audio E4000 could be some other candidates more fitting for the stock 03´s true upgrade.
The max I can stretch to right now is 70$.
Would prefer something around 50ish$, Mele would cost me 55$(inclusive of delivery).
Are they the best buy in that price bracket?
He doesn’t own Mele yet. I’ll leave you his tier list of iems that he already tried, it might help you:

If confort is a must for you, you won’t go wrong with Mele. About different sources or TRUE upgrades to Blon-03, then you might wanna hear @Rikudou_Goku since my ears suck and they sound very alike to me, tuning wise.
You might be impressed what you can do without a macro. All you have to do is put a little effort and thought into your shots and you’ll be amazed at how professional your shots can look. You’re already killing it!
Fair enough. I certainly can’t disagree with what you hear from your ears but Final Audio even state this from their official page:
Compared to the black, the clear version of Type E differs slightly in terms of surface fluency and hardness, and the degree to which they are airtight changes slightly; owing to this, bass tones become a little lighter, high-pitched tones sound clear, and the sound tends toward clarity.
Personally, I find the most balanced tips to be whatever silicon tips Unique Melody uses but they are impossible to get a hold of unless you purchase a unique melody IEM. They make my Anole VX sound like a mini Focal Clear (revealing sibilance and all texture) where as the Final Type E Clear make it sound like a more resolving Sennheiser HD650. How much tips can change not just timber but technicalities really fascinates me.
