đŸ”¶ Tripowin X BGGAR Mele

That’s the million dollar question, aint it?

How about keeping both if it’s that good :smirk:

So just did some testing once more on tips. I still end up with Final E or Spinfit CP100 on Mele (they were tuned with this one btw).

Conclusion:

  • Using CP100 for now.
  • Long tips like E Pro or CP155 make the bass bloat.
  • Ultra wide bores like Azla Crystal veil the sound due to too much separation. They increase stage. I dont like it.

I also prefer Mele from clinical sources than warmer. Seem to remove a piece of meat but to add clarity.

I always used SF bro. Just not only SF :joy:

Are you sure you tuned this with your music library in mind @hawaiibadboy ? Cause it plays so darn well with my Kpop music library so far! The sub-bass is oh so wonderful and due to my kpop music library mainly consists of female vocals, they sound so naturally good and no vocal sibilance at all!

The final chorus in LOONA’s “So What” (3:32 - 4:08) is just so freaking hype with all the sub-bass, brass, and vocals going along with it towards the end of the song.

When listening to LOONA’s “Hi High” I have always complained that it was a vocal sibilance (sss
) nightmare on my FD5, but the Mele just plays this song so naturally and wonderfully. A highlight is the bridge part towards the final chorus at (2:36 - 2:51) when a member sang her high notes really gave me quite the goosebumps.

In Dreamcatcher’s ‘BOCA’ at the (0:31 - 0:43) mark gave me such a great bass rumble and at the (2:01 - 2:30) mark, the guitar riffs in the pre-chorus towards beat drop into the chorus is just so smooth. A little bit extra treat on the (2:49 - 2:56) for that high note vocal modulation.

In Dreamcatcher ‘Deja Vu’ at the (0:00 - 0:12) mark, the piano in the right channel and the vocals in the middle are just so crystal clear. Another highlight is at (2:45 - 3:21) mark. The build up and into the final chorus showcases that the vocals, drums, and guitar doesn’t overlapped with one another despite the instrumentals being quite busy. I’m still able to listen to the details in each of them.

A small comparison would be, the Moondrop Starfield doesn’t play well with Dreamcatcher’s songs. It sounded real dull but the Fiio FH3 and FD5 made it fun to listen. So for the Mele? It fits so nicely with their discography and it’s been real fun to listen to so far. It’s also better than my Tin HiFi T3 overall as well due to the T3 having those vocal sibilance.

I’m not as well versed into the technicalities like you guys but I hope I got my message across on my impressions so far! for $50 and this being a potential first IEM for some users in the future? You’re in for a treat. I’ll probably go more in-depth later this week. I haven’t gone through korean female solo and ballad songs yet. But mainly for kpop so far? This is a keeper.

What tips are you using?

Thats why I hate fd5. Gone out as fast as it came in.

Congratz on your Mele and I’m glad you enjoy it with your library. It’s always good to know if it works with other libraries

That particular song happens to be one of my favourite tracks and got bummed due to sibilance. I’m slowly understanding what kind of IEM I’ll be getting going forward and I’m sure listening through the Mele will help.

and yes! Kpop and Mele works well together!!

This is why it’s very important to try different stuff to find your preferences. Im very picky about female vocals.

I was actually at crossroads between the B2 and FD5 back then and decided on the FD5 due to the Bass, but now I have a clearer idea on what to get. Especially on female vocals, as you can see from the songs that I showcased features those really upper-mids and sub-bass, LOONA ‘So What’ being one of them!

I do intend to showcase other songs from other kpop artists as well when I have the time and give a short break down while using the Mele!

Okay One more.

LOONA ‘PTT (Paint The Town)’ at the (1:01 - 1:26) mark, that slam into the chorus is just so damn impactful. At the (2:43 - 3:03) mark, during the slower part of the song to the vocal high modulation note, I never get that natural vocal forward-ness in my FD5 for this part and the Mele just showcased their vocals very well.

I’m blessed with your input.
Thanks for being specific as that really is helpful
Good or bad
all about “why”
Since this is for Music only music can answer that question so Thank you very much for adding a genre to the collection that gives cautious buyers the info they need

You’re welcome! I will definitely share more of the korean music side of it soon! Glad to help broaden the horizon!

Edit:

I am already listening to the Treble-Heavy english track ‘Star’ by LOONA. I’m just so happy it’s not painful to listen to like it was on my FD5. The 1st verse at the (0:17 - 0:40) mark is just much more relaxing to my ears on the Mele than the FD5.
