Hmmm linsoul better start shipping the black meles this week
I still get LDAC, but the phone notifications are weird, since they don’t have sound, more like interruption of sound.
The odd part is that when I walk too far away and it flips to APTX, it rarely ever decides to flip back on its own, so if that matters, it typically means power cycling it or running the app on the phone ( which takes longer ).

Just found out my spinfits broke and getting new ones where I live will cost 17 euro’s- anyone know eartips in europe that don’t break the bank?

My first iem btw. Thinking about buying the btr5 before they come in. Should I or will my s9+ dac and amp be enough?

Phone is enough, I’m going to test now if a dedicated amp helps, I’ll edit once I’ve done it.
Okay using it with my hip dac which is admittedly a bit stronger than btr5 but I don’t use even close to the max output at low gain the dynamic range seems to liven up a bit and the bass seems tighter along the whole register. It’s quite significant to me but I think the biggest reason for btr5 is still the bluetooth, if you want that function then definitely go for it, otherwise phone is fine in most cases.

Ifi did come out with the ifi go blue recently which is tiny and has bass boost + extra power, tho the price is a bit steeper it has more future proofing. (Also ifi has a lot of fans for its slightly warmer tonality.)
I’ll probably get the zen v2 as my desktop amp but the btr5 is available in my country while the go isn’t, at least yet since other ifi products are. I’m pretty sure it’s the old btr5 that is available not the 2021 ver.
Hmm I’ll think about it more.

Bad news!
I waited 24 days and I received a junk item instead of the Mele.
Damn, this is my first bad experience from Linsoul.
It is clearly been opened somewhere, maybe that’s why it’s been more than 3 weeks in one station.
Hope linsoul can resolve this issue. Already message Deng at Linsoul discord, hope he answers soon.

Fiio Reps in Head-fi noted that the “new” BTR5 with ES9219C chip is out simply because they run out of the old ES9219P chip.
The comparable and available chip happen to have MQA support so they put it in.
Its not the BTR7 people waiting for.

Not sure on the why,
Spinfit CP100 bring more Bass and basically bring the sound more forward but kills the soundstage and reduce airyness.
I personally prefer CP145 for its wider bore and somewhat bigger soundstage.
So depend on the IEMs for me, if your IEMs sound a bit thin and you need to bring out the sound CP100 will do.

I’m gonna have to buy 145 and check that out but i definitely agree that cp100 is bass boosted but it sounds great.
I sold iem’s 6x the price of the Mele just because i wanted my money back and didn’t give an “f” what anyone thought about my opinion.
The Mele just makes music sound great to my ears and that’s all that matters to me at the end of the day.
I love the tonality and weight of the notes.
