Final E fits Olina very easy. Ive used final E on way thicker nozzles
Interesting, maybe I need to force a bit more. Also, that reduction in sound diameter, so to speak, from nozzle to bore to ear - must impact the sound quite a bit, no?
I find that the Type E keeps the imaging prowess but tamps down the mids and treble a bit much for my taste; Iāve found Spiral Dots, Azla Crystals and similar wide-bore tips to be my favorites so far for both sound and comfort. Oddly, I canāt seem to get a good, continual seal with SpinFit CP-100s (which are usually one of my go-to tips for any IEM). Tip-rolling is an odd, continual process I find.
I also find that starting at a 45 degree angle helps so you are sort of using the nozzle to open it up.
Same, although I usually have to go a lilā bit steeper to get it to start to āgripā around the nozzle.
The TWS have a wider bore than regular FYI
My Olina have also arrived. Card #464. Dub version without lyrics.
Although card says āItās all about musicā sometimes the circumstances can change so fast that it becomes quite difficult to fully enjoy your music. So we should appreciate our freedom and support those who are fighting for it.
By the way I am using my old faithful sony tips which provides me a good seal. And for my taste stock Olinas gives enough bass and sub bass rumble (e.g. Ludwig A.F. - Weightless).
Comfort is very good as I almost do not feel them in my ears.
I just got the Cayin RU6 and Iām back to using the Olina stock. With the NOS mode on the RU6, it takes the slight edge off of the treble. But because the RU6 is an R2R dongle DAC, it has amazing 3D spatial imaging, which goes with the Olina like Peanut Butter with Jelly (or Batman with Robin, etc)! Highly, highly recād. As always, RESPECT!
Day 2: cable rollingā¦while pure copper (bqeyz c9) having perfect bass its little bit shouty at times on female vocals.
Changed to kbear limpid pro pure silver cable and happy to report this is perfect cable for Olinaā¦all frequency is perfectā¦bass is perfect stock and no occational shoutyness.
I have this cable in mmcx but using a 2 pin adapter and surprisingly best fit for me. I think i will settle this setup.
By the way UAPP is one hell of a softwareā¦it beats hell out of any dongle for sure. E44 shines through it just needs to launch app first before connecting dongle and then authorize exclusive dac use.
Thatās next on my source list. I just received N3 Pro and oh god.
On my gear, you donāt have to launch the app first. It just takes the dongle exclusive control when I launch it, even after having plugged the dongle.
Uapp is great sound wise, but I always find small quirks that reiterate me when using it.
I compared olina (cp100) with my moondrop SSR (Xelastec) last night.
Iāve always found that olina has to much bass, but this is my taste. What stroke me is that I found olina lacking in imaging: the ātable tennis noisesā in buzzcut season (Lorde) and the wolves in Thriller (MJ) were a little further with olina, but it was harder for me to locate them compared to SSR.
I Begin to doubt. Doubt myself, doubt my gearā¦ I find the olina pretty average for the price bracket: the stage and imaging are on par with the SSR, the mids arenāt better either. The audiosense dt300 with their BAs are better on this subject.
I find it weird I feel the opposite of almost everyone else.
Tennis court is a great example how Olina excels. You are just used to having no depth/left right stage. Thereās no shame on prefering something to another, as long as you are happy
PS: Titan S might be more around you alley, frequency wise. Are you on EU by any chance?
Yes Iām in EU (France) , and titan S is on my radar since its arrival on the market. But you know how it goes, priorities and hypeā¦ Since the Aria died on me (and were my daily set) and Iāve been disappointed by both the timeless and olina, this titan S will definitely be my next purchase. In 2 month from now, to let the wallet grow back some money trees.
Regarding depth and stage, I donāt know: I tried and compared stage with SSR, and didnāt find a huge difference.
Maybe you have a budget gear under your sleeve that could educate me on stage? That could be interesting for me.
I can do better. I can send you my Titan S and you can see if that fits you
Oh yeah thanks man, thatās great!!
