Then they need to address their Olina product page ā¦
I said the same exact thing. How can Linsoul, the main source of the set, not have it in stock but an American company, with some Fantastic customer service I might add, have it in stock literal weeks before the main source ā¦. Something doesnāt add up.
Itās not Headphones fault.
In China they pull sets from production batches and port to Headphones.
Iāve seen folks on head fi cancel orders and buy the sets from headphones.
No drama. They get the sale (minus the cut that goes to re seller)
Nah definitely not headphones fault. Your explanation makes sense
Fwiw if it says free returns then Amazon is backing it. I ordered my timeless through Linsoul via Amazon and returned them almost 30 days later for a full refund when I got the Olina
That is the wording that accompanies Prime shipping in the USAā¦ so perhaps it is different in the UK. Perhaps in the UK a person doesnāt have to have Prime shipping for such a return policy.
P.S. I waited on both MELE and Olina until they were listed on Amazonā¦ I wouldnāt trust a Chinese company as far as I could spit them.
Iāve been using my Olina for a week now. I got it through a reseller in my country and it arrived all in original package brand new no signs of damage at all. I had 2 negative impressions upon inspecting the iem. Left and right faceplate were kind of brazed/lighly scraped far from perfect shine and I was missing one ear tip (not a pair, but one of the large grey ones). So for that part I was disappointed, I was unlucky to get one that wasnāt QC-ed.
Regarding sound, Iām pretty sensitive to treble so almost immediately I added an extra stock mesh to each nozzle and Iām very satisfied with the sound, no problems with long periods of listening to music. Iām still a bit curious though if I had ordered it through Hifigo or Linsoul whether I would still have a probability of getting a bad quality product from Tripowin or not.
get on Linsouls Discord to get QC issues resolved
Wow I got a reply from The Man himself, so awesome and Iām really enjoying the Olina, thank you. Iāll try communicating with Linsoul.
Cool.
Yeah, hit them up on Discord via DM to square away issues and if they drag it out then take it to public discord.
Thatās how to escalate a claim on Discord
Usually works
I received the Olina after a little bit of an issue with Linsoul. Ordered it with the Xenns Up and a few other items and Linsoul forgot the Olina in the original shipment. After a couple email exchanges with photos they shipped the Olina. I was thinking I wouldnāt get a signed card from HBB, but it arrived also. I had originally ordered right when the preorder went live. so Iām happy.
My initial impressions of the Olina were very good. Iām a bass head, and I would have liked a little more bass but itās bass was adequate. The soundstage is what really impressed me, kind of felt 3D like and the energy was amazing too. As I started listening to my library and increasing the db level to where I enjoy jamming, the Olina didnāt scale to well with the volume, they got too fatiguing for me in the 7-10k region.
I tried doubling the nozzle filters and to me the Olina got congested across all frequencies, and lost itās wide soundstage. Yes, it was less fatiguing but sacrificed the clarity across the low and mid frequencies which was what makes this IEM great in the first place. I have ordered some low and high density in-nozzle sponge filters. Iām hoping they will get the Olina to where I can crank them and not be fatigued. Until then Iām using them connected to my ES100 and tweaking them with the EQ. They EQ extremely well and sound incredible now. Hereās how I have them EQād on the ES100.
The Olinaās kick some serious ass especially for $99. Color me impressed.
Thanks HBB,
āSympathy For The Devilā What a great song talking about the evils throughout history that society is capable off. I was only 6 years old when this came out, but when my dad was in his 2nd tour in Vietnam I heard this song and it was quite humbling.
Bro, glad you liked with some caveats of course.
I can hear Mick singing.
Respect to your pops
I had a relative who was in Nam and he took a nice inheritance from his parents who passed away in a year span when he was on 2nd tour.
Lived in a wood beach shack and gave his money to hippies and hangers on. Died of liver disease when I was young.
Family said he was an oddball.
Iām an adult now. (so I can see clearly now)
He was a good person asked to be an animal and never quite got over being put in a meat grinder by pencil pushers.
Last time I saw him was when i was 9 maybe and I was asked what i wanted to be when I grew up by someone and said a sniper/assassin or a pornstar
He pulled me aside and said:
"Go with that pornstar stuff, forget shooting folks, alright?ā

i noticed that also, my solution was putting a thinner mesh as second filter achieving a 1.5 filter mod instead of 2 filters mod that is a bit too extereme a mod
Iām a little confused about this modā¦ some people say thereās a noticeable difference (too much in your case) but some people say they cant even tell the difference ā¦ like danās audio review ā¦ he said he cant find the difference neither in real life nor demo ā¦
yes i saw this video and heard no difference in the demo either, it was graphed https://cdn.head-fi.org/a/11706206.png , (easy to notice on bass that is way stronger with double mesh mod, too strong for my taste this is why i ended up with the 1.5 mesh mod in order to tame the shouty mids without getting too boomy for my personal taste)
update ; i redid the test without looking which side i moded and i could not decide if i preferred stock or modded so placebo is certainly a strong possibility after all
I received my set todayš Very happy with it and pleasantly surprised that i got a Card. I received a card with a line from verse 1 of the song: Multi til the sun die.
so you couldnāt hear difference in demo but you do hear it real life?
also regarding soundstage ā¦ many people (reviewers) say the mod doesnāt affect techs and stage ā¦ but also some ppl say it makes it narrower ā¦
set audio to mono mod only one side and play with the balance left/right to see if you hear a difference ( i know each of our ear is slightly different so your can reverse the sides (plug left iem in your right ear and vice versa) to confirm and make sure you donāt have a big difference from ear to ear due to your biological differences), please write back if you donāt hear a difference
I am posting this photo with purpose, because my favorite IEMs go on the desk. I have been at just one there for a while, and was pondering the S12, but I really wanted something with better imaging than another planar IEM. After two weeks with the Olina, it has clearly earned a spot on the desk.
Per @hawaiibadboy 's ranking list the 7Hz Timeless is his 11th ranked, but to my ears Olina is a better IEM, and I say this as someone who really likes planar sound, and a bit of bass. Olina is neck and neck on note weight and timber, and stomps it on sound stage and imaging. The more I work through my library, the more impressed I am with this IEM. It was such a bargain, I periodically have to remind myself what I paid for it, thanks for that too.
Speaking of bargains, Mele is my goto āI donāt know what I want to listen toā IEM, because they are the comfy blue jeans of my IEM collection. There is a pair in that orange bag at the bottom left of that photo and another in a drawer just out of frame.
Chris, I know some crap is going on. It isnāt and wasnāt you, it will be fine, you will be fine, people will remember you standing up and saying something about it, and they will still be listening to their music on Mele, Olina, and Kinda Lava. Some wise dude recently told me āitās all about musicā.
