I apologize for any late responses guys, ive been super busy and I came on to like over 50 messages from separate spots lmfao. I will get to you guys as soon as I can. If I do not, please feel free to message me again as a reminder
Then, based on what you told me, my research was finalized on two headphones Tygr and hd 560s.
Based on what I understand the Hd 560 is more neutral, the Tygr a bit more fun and have better build quality.
Could you clarify a couple of doubts?
- Which of the two is better in imaging and footstep (horizontally and vertically)
- Which of the two is better in soundstage (is important in a battle royale, right?)
- The Tygr is a bit more immersive in other game right?
4)In case i choose the tygr, can i slightly equalize the mids of the Tygr to recover a littler compared to the 880?
Thank you very much!
I left the 880 aside because Iām afraid itās too boring, certainly excellent in competitive, but not fun in other games.
EDIT: what about hifiman he400se compared to Tygr and HD560s? Have the same price of 560s (160⬠new)
they are pretty close to one another and will be based on a persons hearing, granted if the sound is in the mids it will be more pronounced on the 560s
Levels of clean clarity is better on 560s but I found soundstaging superior on the tygr due to the speaker like presentation.
Immersion and fun I would say so yea.
it definitely will not get to the point of the 880, but it can be equalized enough to balance it out quite a bit. If your looking for mids swing to 880 or 560s in that regard⦠they just perform better in that regard
I would disagree on that⦠more so since its the most flexible of the three listed. Simple pad swaps flip the signature every which way and it responds to EQ the heaviest⦠same with responding to tube amps. However, if you still wish to push the 880 out by all means.
its main strength is its soundstage and verticality however, it loses out on things such as imaging. Its an alternative
Thank you for your information⦠I bought the tygr (b-stock at 112 euros from the manufacturerās website). I hope to find myself well, I will keep you updated as soon as I have tried them a bit. Just a little help, in the sound card management application I have 3 amplification levels (performance, powerful and extreme). I guess extreme is used for headphones with high impedance, could I damage the headphones using this setting? Thank you for all!
always start out with low power. Yes, high amounts of voltage can damage the headphone
I wish ZMF would send me a copy of these to check out honestly lmfao. ZMF makes absolutely phenomenal pads made of very high grade material⦠To see that not only do they work for something like the DT series but they can keep the stock signature while improving on a few points such as 990s weaker sub bass? thats rather impressive.
I am contemplating buying them, but I am a bit apprehensive on how they react to T1 and 1990.
I think my biggest comment at them about this⦠but wheres my suede?
hey, Again! what is a better fit for the HD 560s. fiio E10K or fiio K3?
The k3 is better than E10k then again, neither one are really all that great⦠just decent budget options. Recommend saving up and buying use market stack at around $140 or saving up to $200 to again⦠entry level stack just new condition. Better performance, no issues with power even in the near future, better sound, more for your moneys worth.
Hi everyone,
Does anyone have experience with the Epos h6 Pro? Open and closed versions?
How does it compare to the PC38x?
Nope, though it appears to just be another variation to the H3 just potentially better? Either way, havenāt sat with either to comment on them.
I have said enough hate towards this headset and all of its glaring flaws. If I find a better headset than this I will gladly shout it out on here thats for damn sure, wouldnāt take much effort to put this thing down eitherā¦
For the record guys, you are welcome to recommend me to try things out / send things out to me. Feel free to reach out I have had a few people recommend headphones for me to try and I appreciate trying new things.
Currently in the process right now?
Shockingly Audio technicas gaming headset GL-3(recommended to look into by another thread user) highly likely to be a pass on build and comfort alone but will see on sound later
Beyers newer headsets which may be a hard pass are the new mmx series. They look decent but mmx is already a bit of a pass since its just a redone dt 770 for 3 times the price
Epos H3 and H6(considering the technology in these it may replace the pc38x)
Hifiman Edition XS(when it comes in courtesy of another thread user)⦠highly likely this may make the list potentially above a sundara
Note: items that may be sent to me can be covered by me via shipping costs per request, provided theres an interest in the item in question of course. For example, I had someone send me an Aeon Noire which I paid shipping fees for them Round trip.
The h6 pro is interesting as thereās a open back version and a completely separate closed back version; Iāve seen some small reviewers say they sound pretty similar and some say they sound drastically different from each other, it would be interesting to get a contrast and direct comparison to other headphones (598, 58x, PC38x etec) A lot of the big YouTube reviewers havenāt seen the touch it yet
Noticed that, I an considering grabbing the open back⦠I do own the pc38x so at some point I may make a direct comparison between those two. PC38x makes use of the GSP drivers and the EPOS series is essentially the series successor of the GSP.
Curious, it could be source causing signature changes⦠then again people hear things quite differently and not everyone can hear all the usual frequencies either.
That would be a bit of a gamble. PC38x isnāt better than the 58x by like⦠any degree really imo. In terms of clarity and sound quality? Like no competition there⦠pc38x is like a lower degree HD 560s as even the signature there is very similar.
Usually when I see that its either too new or a bad thing in that its just not that great of a headset.
Holy⦠I actually hate these new beyer gaming headsets mmx 100/150. Huge mixed bag, awful pads, etc. Like I understand these arenāt built at the main factory and are now in china⦠but this is a bit extreme⦠the overall quality here dropped atleast 45% and thats being a bit generous
ughh! my brain hurts.
Guys i trust you all.
itās my last purchase, just for reference i used dt 990. liked it BUT it was TOO SHARP!
sold it.
My amp/dac is GSX 1000.
i donāt have the luxury of options either for headphones or dac/amps. because of where i live.
so please suggest what will work with GSX 1000.
canāt get stacks or anything.
i want an open-back, COMFORTABLE, has good imaging and will work for competitive games such as; Valorant, apex, r6s etc.
and good for single player games.
so an all-rounder. budget is 150$-200$
i know i ask a lot itās just when i get suggested a headphone i canāt get it to ship to me. so i end up asking again. sorry.
if anyone could give me a list of headphones for my needs, please do so when i donāt find one i may find the other.
was it just the sharpness being too much?
Not sure if recent purchase but this thing is overpriced beyond all hell for what it is⦠if you paid like $200+ like how its priced here⦠I would recommend sending it back if possible and getting a proper dedicated unit setup as thats a hell of a lot better and less limiting on power
Plenty headphone suggestions at the top here in the actual write up.
Though if your looking for a beyer and the 990 was just too sharp⦠DT 880 or Tygr 300r would be the alternatives there⦠300r is just 990 but nowhere near as sharp sounding and 880 is less brightness but also less bass and soundstage⦠its a bit more well rounded
No i got it for, 100$.
Used in a very good condition.
Hm maybe a tygr for a less sharp Beyer v or a Sennheiser 560s for a more neutral approach?
Canāt get those i tried. Tyger only comes i the bundle with a microphone. 880 canāt get it too. And it will need an amp beyond my budget.
Any other suggestions?
Thank you for taking the time to answer. I really appreciate it.
