I have entirely too many videogame soundtracks. They really don’t get the credit they deserve, especially compared with movie soundtracks (Marvel still learned nothing from that Every Frame A Painting video).

When I played this level I honestly couldn’t tell what was music and what was environmental sounds. I kinda hope they don’t make another Splinter Cell, I really have no confidence in Ubisoft at this point.

This. A game about piecing together fragmented memories puts fragmented music front and centre. Movies can’t do this, neither can TV shows. Videogames do this.

Valve just announced they’re allowing soundtracks to be bought and downloaded without the base game, and they can be available in FLAC, but they’ll be MP3 (probably 160 kbps) by default.

thats not true. this has been available for a while now. it wasnt ‘just announced’. also, there is no default but wast majority is in 320 mp3, if not flac or wav

Although not an official soundtrack, this guy does guitar playthroughs of entire games, with Mega Man Series being a common one. Sounds amazing (Mega Man 2 on NES is my all time favorite game).

He’s also on bandcamp.

They’ve had soundtracks but they’ve only been available as DLC, requiring you to buy and install the game before you can access it. Now they’ll be available as separate products.

I jam the Persona, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, and Resident Evil soundtracks a lot.

Shoji Meguro is a god among men he tops himself each soundtrack. I’ll listen to it around my friends and they aren’t even aware it’s from a video game.

Is there somewhere to find the full versions? Just checked Spotify and tidal and only the piano versions. Still good but not that same pop.
