Makes me want to clean my junk drawer.

so, I just finished watching the epic sci-fi show Killjoys and it’s OST is just as awesome as the show. check it out guys!

also, I saw this thread began almost 2 years ago. shocked me that we’ve been around for that long already! this community is so solid and fun that time passes and we don’t recognize it!

It’s like Quake 1 meats John Carpenter and I love it

I feel like I’ve posted these before, but WTH, let’s do it again!

1992 version of The Last of the Mohicans film OST:

breathtaking theme

Medal of Honor Allied Assault OST:

Also see composed by Giacchino: Star Trek (Kelvin timeline OST)

This list could get long, so just with text:

John Williams - Everything(?) - Standouts are almost everything Star Wars, Jaws, Jurassic Park, Harry Potter film OSTs…and I’m sure I’m forgetting some

Hans Zimmer - The Dark Knight, Interstellar, Pirates of the Carribean, theme from The Rock…just a name a few as well

Howard Shore - OST from the LOTR films

Alright, I’ll stop there for now…

Most of my favorite soundtracks are from visual novel games, particularly

LairSoft - any game in the “What a beautiful” series.

G-senjou no Maou, though most of Akabei Soft2’s games have really good sound tracks.

I also might be legally obligated to also mention NitroPlus and their soundtracks which are phenomenal.

There are also many many other games and studios who do great soundtracks in Visual Novel games.

Thought I’d revive this thread by sharing my carefully curated Spotify playlist for film scores: Spotify. (I apologise it’s not lossless but I’m still holding out for Spotify HiRes since I’m supporting a family plan.)
Featuring:

  • Interstellar [Hans Zimmer]
  • Westworld [Ramin Djawadi]
  • Penny Dreadful [Abel Korzeniowski]
  • War & Peace [Martin Phipps]
  • 1917 [Thomas Newman]
  • The Mandalorian [Ludwig Goransson]

And so much more. Enjoy!

I really enjoy the Madalorian soundtrack… modern, but with throw backs to enrico morricone and “spaghetti western” soundtracks… love it.

Yeah that bass recorder sounds sumptuous. Wonderful work

Anything by Ludwig G.

Lovely on HPs/IEMs with plenty of bass. Fantastic male choir

Nice jazzy piece

Just came to drop this lol:

But in all seriousness all the Souls soundtracks are top tier

The 2021 Dune OST by Zimmer is insanely good.

So much rumbling. If you are looking for those Epic vibes.

Something else movie related that I got from Z Reveiws a day or two ago are movie preview scores. He was using tracks from Epic Score on a speaker review. I looked it up & listened on Anazon Musuc. Much of it sounds like a Hans Zimmer movie score.
As it turns out several people/production companies are doing these scores for movie previews, or video games & most all of them sound like something by Hans Zimmer for some reason.

I love Dancer in the dark soundtrack

Pretty much anything Hans Zimmer does but Interstellar and Gladiator will always remain on my playlist.

I haven’t listened to Gladiator, but Interstellar is one of my absolute favs!

Hooooo boy I have a bunch.

Played a lot of forza motorsport 4 when I was younger. This was one of the songs that cycled while in the menus.

I’m really surprised that no one has put any Halo music yet. High Charity Suite is my favorite out of the entire Halo 2 ost. I feel like it captures the entire idea of the halo games.

Another for me is the entie Halo 3: ODST ost. It’s a masterpiece.

In terms of movies for me nothing can touch the How to Train Your Dragon soundtrack. I grew up with the movies and they hold a very special place in my heart. The music will never get old.
