I am considering buying some cutters for my Dremel and attempt some fine-detail wood working.
The latest things my friends and I have been doing is getting our weekly board game night together by using Boardgamearena.com, some online poker with a different group, and brushing up my language skills again with Duolingo.
Very interesting. I bought Beyond Good & Evil recently and Iām really enjoying it but I find it to be quite the hard read since Iām not used to books this dense. Itās also translated form german so that probably doesnāt help. I admit sometimes i have to read the page 2 or 3 times to grasp the meaning but I find it very fascinating nonetheless.
the only thing this virus is good for right now is itās keeping me from buying shoes. been eyeing like 5 pairs but feet are weird amd meed tot ry them first and I dot wanna deal with online purchasing cause I would rather buy local
if your friends have some kinda modern pcs even integrated graphics should be able to handle it tabletop simulator is how me and my friends have been coping with not beeing able to see each other for a while
David Humeās āAn Enquiry of Human Understandingā is a good companion to āBeyond Good and Evilā (something Iām sure Nietzsche would hate).

My friend was playing Gloomhaven on Tabletop sim earlier this week. Iāll definitely check it out because my weekly game was actually Gloomhaven.
That looks like Blender. 2.7 or 2.8? After learning on 2.70, i have to now start everything over for 2.8. Ugh!
What shape did you start with? Did you use a reference photo? Let me know if I can help. My Blender is better than my audiophile. Not that either is really all that great. lol
How are you liking 2.8 so far? It has some clear advantages I think, but I do find it a bit of a hassle getting into it and for some reason the workspace tabs donāt behave as I would think they would. Sometimes Iām in the modelling tab working on something, switch to the shading or uv editing tab and suddenly my object is goneā¦
Also I find sculpting a bit harder though everyone says it should be easier, probably just because I already sucked at sculpting though
Lol, looks like a sick-ass door knob though. Are you using proportional editing? Kinda curious how you got here. like @isnotsocial said, using a reference photo often helps. Also never add the subsurface modifier too soon, I keep making that mistake for some reason.
I like 2.8. The stands they have done to menus and metrics was long overdue. Workspaces is a great idea but should be an option at first start for new users and not a default. My $0.02. The new key bindings and function name changes are my current issue. I spent some time with the betas and the initial release but have not had as much runtime as I would like since the official release. 2.9 is now on their radar.
Depends on the modifier. Mirror should be used early but applied early. Part of a modifier is it is light weight during modelling and rendering. But yes, use wisely.
I am no expert at blender. Most of my projects I just delete or never save. Things like a mountain range with camera animation like a helicopter fly by. Also done some crude home designs. I tend to get frustrated with shading and colors and move on. Lol
Have you ever tried substance painter? I am going to do a trial in the coming weeks to see how I like it.
2.82a. 2.7 was the reason it took me this long to really try learning it, I hated the interface.
Dammit, now I canāt remember how to do it. This is why it takes me so long, I always forget stuff I āfigured outā myself. I think I started with a circle and however I extruded it up formed a pointed capsule shape, maybe Iād accidentally inverted it. I know I didnāt use the subsurf modifier though, I just double the number of vertices when I created the circle.
I play piano, I get killed a lot in fps games on xbox (yeah, iām the guy with the high ping that manages to get a kill:death of 4:20 xD), beginner photography
Unfortunately my other hobbies have suffered from this pandemic as well. I did regularly lift weights and swim laps (have gone to body weight resistance exercises and cycling now). I also enjoy watching sports and nerding out about statistics and play styles and offensive and defensive strategiesā¦ , but there are no sports right now. Iām still a big fan of movies and TV shows too which I can still do to an extent but the kids being around more has also limited that quite a bit too. I enjoy reading and will likely get back into some books soon.
I used to own and run a snowboard shop with my bro in the UK, been boarded a lot in Europe and Banff Canada, mostly back country powder stuff for meā¦getting a tad old and busy with work so iāve not been for a few years but people like Travis still keep the fire alive, just the scenery alone amps meā¦early morning runs, caffeine, adrenaline and fresh air ā¦
I did something similar. I started with a circle, extruded it up. Then subdivided it a couple times to expand out the center. From there I pulled the faces for the spout and handle and extruded them further. Rotating as needed. If I was to do it again, I would have added more subdivides upon the initial circle extrude. Give it a rounder shape and not rely on āsmooth meshā render tricks.
I got lazy with the lidā¦
That was a lot of fun. Ty for that!
I thoroughly enjoy performing, so Iām in a musical theatre group and I also volunteer as teacher in a community Dance school which I absolutely love! Iād say this is my main hobby!
Gotta say I cheated a bit, I did use a subdivision and I mightāve used the sculptools do drag some stuff around. Nozzle is kinde fckād but I added a little lid to compensate. Also the lid can have like half the faces it has now.
Also one tip probably everyone already knew but me: the F2 add-on is an absolute must.
I thought about using the sculpt tools but canāt stop it breaking with or without dyntopo. I think it might be easier to make it as a separate object, bevel it to create the curve then subdivide.
